Directions from Allenstown, NH: Travel SR 28 north and turn right onto Dodge Road. The park is about 1 mile east. After passing the contact station, there is a large beach parking lot on the left. The trail begins just right of the parking lot driveway.

Great trail! Leaves on the ground made it a bit slippery but to be expected this time of year. Good views through the trees (the leaves down helped - might not get views in the spring and summer)

was a nice hike lots of rocks near the top places to sit down not great views but the hiking was fun problem is it is not well marked at all and can be confusing not just me but other people some people were getting lost when I got down to the other side it said Cascade one way and picnic area the other thinking cascade was the one Mile and think the picnic area was the 2.4 back to the parking lot I assumed wrong because it did not say Catamount at all anywhere and then when I got out to one of a Crossing roads it didn't say to go left or right thank God I knew where I was going but people can get lost in here it needs to be remarked it was a great day for a hike maybe a little muggy

Good workout but no worthwhile views.

Really fun hike. Especially in the rain! Trails are sparsely marked and intersecting trails cause some confusion. You definitely need to use GPS or All Trails.

Very nice system of trails with lots of options to make your hike shorter or longer as you desire. Nice views, varying terrain, running water. Would definitely do again! Lots of mosquitos and ticks though.

nice trail, perfect for kids in the 10 year old range. they could add more markers to identify trails. very clean area with awesome views and benches along most of the route.

Good hike with the dog but the trails are not marked very well. Did some exploring off cascade trail as well and this was beautiful (follow the blue marks when you get to the split on the back end of catamount). Definitely glad I had all trails to pull up and see the different trail splits.

Great morning for a hike! Quiet on the trails with just a few people. We did a detour along the One Mile Trail and the Cascade Trail, very pretty along the river. It could have better markings, thank goodness for AllTrails!! Good workout on the climbs!

Nice little trail Not well marked at some points But easy to navigate

Excellent views from the high points, particularly without leaves on the trees. I like the fairy aggressive elevation climb, which makes you feel like you're getting a moderate hike without needing to commit too much time. Of course, you can add on other trails to make a day of it if you want. Not too muddy for spring, but I imagine if it's rained recently that this time of year it would be a tough and slippery go. Not great markings and def depended on my alltrails map, by with the map, it's fine.

I did this clockwise and found the trails quite poorly marked. I would have been lost without AllTrails up for several junctions. Sentinel was very very icy but all others sections were just muddy (no ice) which is unsurprising since it’s spring. Overall a great cadence of elevation rise and fall for a decent trail run with the notable detractor of multiple unmarked junctions. There is parking directly across the trail head for 10-15 cars, which was nice. Looking forward to coming back under better weather and trail conditions.

Smaller trail for sure, but nice views at the top!

Great trail even in the winter but definitely suggest that you wear spikes or have a hiking/ski pole. I went down the catamount and onto the cascade trail then connected with the one mile trail to make it back to the parking area, 4 miles in total.

A bit slick but doable even without microspikes. Decent view on top of the hill, but please, be courteous to others hiking. We didn’t get a chance to really take in the view due to a group camping out, unmoving. A nice, short loop! Overlaps with the snowmobile trail in a couple spots briefly, but we only saw a few riders.

2/1/19, Brisk 3.7 mile snowshoe trek up Catamount Hill, 721' in Bear Brook State Park. Saw 3 deer run across the trail in front of me and bright sun all day. (But that wind...) Much of the trail hadn't been blazed since the snows earlier in the week. Nice views from atop Catamount Hill.

Nice winter day to head out. As others have said the trails could be marked better! We ended up on Cascade Trail which got steep and icy but wound back around. Thank goodness for AllTrails!! Only have the free version but will upgrade to Pro next time they have a sale!
