130 acre nature preserve located in Las Vegas valley, easy walk or bike ride This is both an unexpected and pleasant surprise for both visitors and Las Vegas residents. The Wetlands Park protects 2900 acres of unique & varied wildlife habitat. The Las Vegas wash flows through this park, supporting fragile & threatened areas of marsh & riparian habitat. Coyote, quail & rabbit are prolific along the wash, and wetlands, especially at dawn & dusk. There is no fee to use these trails and the main trailhead (on Broadbent Blvd.) & parking is open 24 hours. The trail is broken into 2 short, connected loops - Quail Run & Coyote; when you do them both + walk to the preserve and back, you can make it into a 2 mile walk. The fire last year burned the observation tower; hopefully it will be rebuilt. When you are walking amongst the reeds, marshes & meadows, with the city noise a distant hum; you can almost image what it must have been like in Las Vegas when the wetlands covered this area, and game was prolific. Picnic area at trailhead but no RR.

The signs are worn, you end up walking on dirt kind of through the bushes a little. I knew I was still on the path thanks to the app and there was a bench.

Not a bad, very short, easy walk mostly paved, many people have not been scooping up after their dogs. Fair amount burned areas along path.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Warning: It does warn about mosquitos, though, and I did get bitten.

Didn’t see much wildlife but we did see lots of dog poop. Sad

Probably would have been more enjoyable had I not been ambushed by a swarm of homeless people and if everywhere I looked there weren’t broken glass bottles and trash on the ground. A lot of the trail has been burnt so it’s mostly dead bushes but the water was cool to see. There was also lots of wildlife on this trail. Started out as a morning walk and turned into a morning run because of how unsafe I felt there and wanted to get out ASAP.

Disgusting. Trash on the trails and around the picnic area. Also, everything is dead.

I do love this trail. Walking amongst the reeds and viewing the wildlife that wonder through is always a nice change of scenery. It isn’t a tough trail what so ever but my dogs love watching for birds and rabbits along the trail and hearing the occasional coyote howl in the distance. The amount of homeless people in the park really does need to be dealt with though.

After the fire that happened here one of my managers from work had 6 coyotes block him, his wife and two pit bulls on the trail.... they were able to get away unharmed. A few weeks later the police found a lady hanging from a tree over there too.

Not an area I'd recommend to tourists, but if you're in the neighborhood and want to meander about its fine

This trail was ok. it is pet friendly but it would be nicer if people would pick up after their dogs. it was easy to follow but the homeless sleeping toward the back of the trails was a little alarming

Found this trail and was quite pleased with it. Nice area to walk our dog and close to where we were staying at Duck Creek RV. They have a great map to get at the Wetland area and has other dog walking areas to go and check out. Happy we found this place!

We hike there several days each week. Lots of opportunity to see a surprisingly large variety of birds. Also saw a beaver in the ponds near the new visitor center.

Excellent area that isn't very well known. Amazing wetlands park with many different trails throughout. Many people complain about the paved walkways saying that there isn't much "hiking" available, however there are many other pathways available for those looking for more of a "trail". Recommended for all levels of hikers. You can get some good distance if you start at the Broadbent entrance and hike up to the Hollywood entrance.
