The best trail in Hawn State Park - White Oaks trail crosses several wet-weather creeks and has scenic views from large exposed sandstone rock outcrops. It travels through a diverse mixed hardwood and shortleaf pine forest. This is a very easy hike. There aren't any senic overlooks, or spectacular vistas, however it is an enjoyable hike with a few rock outcroppings along the way.

11/02/2019, Saturday, 1100-1300. 52 degrees, full sunny day. Time of year, fall day. We saw six people on this hike, two groups of three; no other life: no squirrels, chipmunks, deer, birds, nothing. we heard some crickets. Fall colors were spectacular; see photos. No bugs, ticks, chiggers, mosquitoes, spiderwebs. Beautiful granite outcroppings, creeks, pine trees, mosses, and ferns.

Flat, boring, incredibly overgrown, swarming with bugs and coated in spiderwebs. Do this hike if you want to plod through waist high weeds for 3.5 miles. A few pretty sights at the beginning but not enough to make up for the rest of it.

A little rocky in a few spots, over grown a bit in others, but mostly the trail is a nice jaunt through the woods. No spectacular views, but overall, a nice hike. Wear pants in the summertime.

I went in July with my 5year old and we’ve never hiked a trail with so many ticks. My son and I literally lost count there were so many. There are spots the trail gets narrow so you are forced to walk through plants on the path. The hike was pretty.

Awesome, easy trail. Took about an hour and half to finish. The first ¾ mile has some rocks but great exercise!

This was my first time doing this trail, and it was great! Very peaceful, as I only saw two other people and one coyote during the 2 hours on the trail. There was lots of snow off the trail and some ice on the trail, but it wasn’t too difficult to get through.

Hiked in the winter, 35 degrees. Trail is well traveled and marked, easy to see even while covered in leaves. Some trail markers are faded and few grown over into the trees and it also has 2 red trail markers in the loop portion. Some small trees fallen across trail (nothing to big to step over), but I was out there in winter. With the connecting trails you make the hike as long as you like!! Overall a great trail to hike!!

Some spots can get overgrown, and some smaller trees may have fallen over the trail. Nothing that's hard to step over or go around. The trails are very well marked, but keep an eye out for some spots that may cross the bigger creeks. Almost all of the trails are close to the water most of the way. This can make for good fun, but also lots of bugs and gnats in the warmer months. Pack lots of water and some snacks, as there are connectors to other trails you can do in the same day. This is a great park, and has a good variety of difficulty in the trails, and length.

Very simple scenery. Lots of trees, some rocks and creeks. Trail starts out open then gets very narrow and open again as you finish the loop. I recommend wearing protective clothing such as long pants and long sleeve shirts.

Nice trial/walk in the woods. Trail is clearly visible and marked. Your typical poison ivy, mosquitos and ticks, but that's Spring. This Missouri humidity is a killer though. Several creek crossings, but none were difficult. We didn't get wet and there's been lots of rain lately. Only saw 2 other people and it was around noon on a Sunday. Would love to do again in the Fall.

great hike, some Rocky Terrain on the trail. there is a restroom located at the trailhead. some downed trees on the trail but not hard to get around. the entire hike is relatively level ground not a lot of up and down Hills.

As stated before, this is a moderate trail loop with some rocky inclines and creek crossings. Overall, absolutely beautiful, well labeled, and highly trafficked.

A fun short loop/out and back that goes over a few streams. Thought this was nicer in the spring when there was more water. Not sure about the variety but there were mushrooms everywhere!

Very well marked trail leading through very tall pines and of course old oaks. There are a few lengthy stretches where the path is nothing but melon-sized rocks, so don't do this trail if you have weak ankles! The forest canopy is the main attraction here. We hiked this in early November and heard wild turkeys but never saw them. Not as interesting and varied as Pickle Creek, but a lovely hike with the right amount of challenge and some imposing rock formations.

its a nice and easy trail...with a nice bit of scenery before you loop back....but i doubt i would go back ..except for some exercise..

The least interesting trail in the park. Yet it beats many trails in the state. Do it if you have time.
