This recorded track more closely represents the actual Chief Pontiac Trail between the two organized group campsites in Proud Lake Rec and Kensington Metro Park. I make this statement based on the park trail maps and CPT trail markers located along the route. In any case I've hiked this trail a half a dozen times, each time gaining more insight about the trail, its beauty (and after making many wrong turns), its location/track.

Wonderful trail. You don't have to follow the red line the whole way, you can use the blue and black dotted trails also. Unfortunately it's not a loop so you gotta walk back to get back to your car. Not great signage to point you in the right direction, but AllTrails map plus GPS does the trick.
