Just hiked this trail...totally passable with microspikes on and so much fun. Quite a bit of ice and still some pockets of packed snow on the way up. Streams are still flowing with some icy spots but rocks are visible for crossing. Awesome day!

Trailhead a little tricky to find. Lots of boulder scrambling and really need to be able to pull your own body weight up as well as be sure footed on wet stones. Interesting trail.

Hike was really fun. You climb up over many boulders and rocks in the beginning, but our group enjoyed it. Great views from the top.

Beautiful forest trail w/ outstanding views from Mt. Sargent. Recommend Gilmore over to Sargent route.

Absolutely loved this trail. It is difficult, but well worth the effort.

We did this trail because we were tired of seeing so many tourists!! We were so plesantly surprised!! Definitely make sure you've got boots. We did Giants Slide Trail, then once we hit the carriage trail, we went up to do the 1.7 joke up Sargent Mountain. Whoa it was so windy!!! It was a beustiful 65 degrees all day and I was in a tshirt, then needed a sweatshirt and I wish I brought a headband for my ears. But OMG the views

A beautiful, fun hike. The big rocks and scrambles going up the slide trail were a nice bit of challenge; the views from Gilmore, Sargent, and the ridge trail on the way down rival any elsewhere in the park. Very pretty lichen fields. Wouldn't want to do it in rain.

Great hike! Technical at times with some bouldering but super fun. Lots of different landscapes and amazing views. A little buggy so bug spray may be useful. Otherwise amazing hike, beautiful views!

Great trail. A bit technical with some bouldering involved but super fun! And, amazing views at the summit! More like 5.3 miles rather than 4.5

Great hike with lots of different conditions. We went past the summit to an amazing mountaintop pond.

Great hike for those with experience and stamina. Lots of rock scrambles and water - do not do this hike without proper boots! Muddy at parts but the summit was amazing. Only people on the trail this time of year too - off the beaten path. Would absolutely recommend for Acadia visitors.
