Trail was properly marked. but snow and ice gave little toughness.

I did about 4.5 miles here - nice winter hike! Trails extremely well marked. I wish I had enough time to do the whole thing. Will def be back!

This is a rather long trail that begins in Prospect, and goes through Cheshire (north/south) and Hamden CT (east/west) through Sleeping Giant St. Park. The trail takes a sharp turn where it intersects with the Regicide Trail that comes up from New Haven. The Regicide trail starts on West Rock and continues north to the Quinnipiac Trail. From the intersection of those two trails, the Q trail (north bound) is a easy trail with a few accents and descents until you get to Mt. Sanford. The trail ends at Rt. 43 in Prospect just past Mt. Sanford. Heading East from the Regicide trail intersection, you cross a number of streets and Rt. 10 (Whitney Ave) before heading into Sleeping Giant - an AWESOME hiking Mecca! After some serious hiking across the park (not for beginners) the trail heads down to the Quinnipiac River in North Haven by the Wilbur Cross Parkway. The trail follows the river to the rest stop near Rt. 22. The section along the river is not well marked or properly cared for and boring.
