Gorgeous falls set deep in the side of Mt Princeton. From the trailhead it is easy to find the well labeled trail that will lead you up to the falls. Though this trail is short, it does gain a fair amount of elevation, so take your time. Bring water as well, since this area is very arid and the valley can get pretty hot in the summer. When you near the falls you will likely see signs not to climb around on the rocks or approach the falls to closely as rock fall is a common occurrence here. You will likely see a sign because about once a year the sign in crushed or buried in a rock fall, so heed the warning. These falls flow best in the spring, but by late summer or fall in dry years will completely stop flowing.

Fantastic winter hike with excellent views, definitely coming back in the summer! If you're planning to hike it now, you may have trouble finding the path under the snow, but it is doable with no equipment.

Great hike. Waterfall still flowing good. AllTrails map seems to have an error toward the middle of the hike. No problem staying on the trail though. It is well built. Almost no one else around. Short and very enjoyable!

Very short, but very enjoyable hike. The water was still flowing pretty well. The road up to the trailhead was undergoing paving operations, but I was able to get to the TH lot before having to stop.

The falls are very nice. The upper part of the trail is not well marked, and fairly rugged. Small children will need help or close supervision on that part.

We found the loop before we found the falls. When you get to the river, the trail to the falls goes up to the left. If you enter the trail from the left side of the parking lot and cross the river, hiking to the right, you will loop around to the parking lot (the right entrance from the parking lot). We did see a large bull snake and kept to ourselves because we weren't familiar with it! Lovely and majestic falls. A local lady told us that a few years back, some hikers died due to rock falls, so the trail was modified. If you don't cross the stream and end your hike at the fall overlook, I don't think you would be in much danger of rock falls.

Short beautiful hike. You can either stop at the lookout area or climb alongside the river all the way up to the waterfall.

Very short trail with a bit of a climb but so pretty. Trail well maintained. Easy hike as it’s short. I went late in the day and there were not many other hikers.

Beautiful scenery, awesome trail! I would go early though, it only holds one small family at a time where you see the falls. Would not be fun waiting until the family before you leaves.

One of the most beautiful trails I’ve seen. Amazing views, creekside for much of the trail, and the waterfall was gorgeous. Easy hike that is mostly uphill until the falls. You can cross the creek and get closer to the waterfall- but be aware of the warnings of rock falls. I hadn’t heard about it much until we completed the trail; but definitely something to be aware of before heading into the hike.

This trail was perfect for a small, spur of the moment adventure. It was more like a nature staircase made of rocks & was very easy / could be good for most skill levels. The actual falls trail only takes you so close to the falls so if you want to get closer, you’ll have to cross the river which wasn’t difficult. We weren’t totally sure where the loop trail went but it looks like if you wanted to do that part you’d have to cross the river too. The view from right underneath it was amazing & totally worth it. Also the view of Mount Antero was breath taking.

Great short hike, especially for little kiddos. My toddler was able to do part of the beginning and then transitioned to a pack. He loved the waterfall too! We considered doing the loop but encountered a water crossing right away. With toddler pack and no change of shoes, didn’t want to risk it and have cold feet all day.

Nice & easy hike! Beautiful views almost the whole way up. Waterfall is a little wimpy right now but definitely worth seeing.

Short trail to beautiful falls. Took the loop back to the lot and saw two large rams. Very great for the family!

Super short and we couldn’t go as far as this listed because of the rushing water. There is a loop but it isn’t listed on All Trails or at least we didn’t see it and it started snowing so we decided not to take it all the way around.
