This trail has many different paths and it is not sign posted however the map in the app was very helpful and was needed to be sure we were going the correct way. Parking is on a residential street and we took the stairs down to the path. We had our 9,6,3 year olds and wished we went to the right as it would have been easier going down the “stairs” on the mountain vs going up which seemed really difficult. It took us an hour, we went in the morning and there was a lot of cloud cover but the views of the ocean were still wonderful. It was 64° and we were all hot at the end.

Okay, I hate to complain about anything and I hate confrontation and this made me do both. I was with my sister and 8 year old nephew wanting to go on this hike. Most trails allow you to park AND hike up to an hour after sunset. This being only a one mile hike and prepared with a light and it still only being 10 minutes after sunset we went to begin the hike fully knowing it’ll only take 20 min tops to complete. We were stopped by the security guy telling us we weren’t allowed to. When we stated to him that typically hiking trails allow the one hour he tells us it’s private property and we have to go. Keep in mind there are no signs that say private property or a sunset policy. No sign stating the trail opens and closes at certain times. As we started to walk back to our car he begins to yell something out his car window so we yelled back telling him we couldn’t even hear him. As we were trying to drive away my sister had to swerve around him because he violently almost hit our car and screams “F**k you!” My sister screams back at him that we have an 8 year old in the car that he can hear him and how unprofessional it was. Security is meant to keep you safe but this guy crossed so many lines. In the time he was yelling at us we could have been half way done with the hike. BEWARE OF THE RENT-A-COP THEY HIRE

A nice trail with a pleasing variation in scenery over it's relatively short length. Great views of the coast. It was lush green from a lot of recent rains. This trail is almost completely contained within the Rancho Palos Verdes Coastal Trail. There is a moderate+ section on the southern portion of the trail - washed out, steep and surrounded with beavertail cactus on both sides. It is adjacent to the Gnatcatcher picnic table. Quite challenging with a 7 month old Lab puppy.
