Climb up to Mount vision via the Bucklin trail. This hike has beautiful views and is one of the lesser frequented areas. Take Muddy Hollow to bucklin. Return Via the Way you came

Trail needs maintenance - very narrow in sections due to brush over growth . Limited vistas up to Mt Vision.

A lot of the trail is overgrown and includes a bit of bushwhacking. It’s still lovely but indeed a tough hike.

We park at muddy hollow trail which was on the left, the bucklin trail was on the right. Wear pants! worth the hike!

A large part of the trail (probably 1/3) is seriously overgrown, almost disappearing entirely in some areas. It's a slog getting through those parts -- and wow, do you not want to wear shorts -- but the view at the top is amazing. The climb is steady but there are occasional flat sections to give your calves a rest. We enjoyed the hike but if no trail maintenance is done, we suspect it will be quite difficult to get through in another month.

Pretty nice trail, fairly mellow if you're at all used to California hiking. Trail was in good condition except for a few downed trees from a recent storm. Saw a ton of banana slugs and a few rough skinned newts. Took 2 hours out and back at a moderate pace; GPS and altimeter recorded 6.5 miles and 1545' elevation gain.

Great hike with a rewarding view of the coast and hillside. Some tiresome incline but a very well balanced hike and the distance feels great. We did the full in and out in just over 2 hours. The trail is overgrown (we went in mid-July) so you'll get scratched up on your legs if you don't wear long pants of some kind.

NOT DOG FRIENDLY. We considered turning our grass grazing dog into a miniature pony for this trail. AllTrails has some seriously misguided information about this hike! Can't attest to the actual hike as we never got a chance to hike in Point Reyes National Seashore!

WARNING. No idea how this hike is because I wasn't able to do it when we arrived - just wanted to warn those looking at it. It is NOT dog friendly. In fact, we learned that the vast majority of the trails in the area don't allow dogs because they allow horses (stupid horses!) or bikers. Come here to hike without the pooch because the hikes in general are gorgeous and amazing, just leave the doggy at home.
