Started at Boynton Canyon Trailhead. Head out on Deadman’s Pass, go right at Long Canyon trail, another right at the Mescal Connector, and then left on Mescal. When you hit the road, crossover to the next trailhead and stay left on Chuck Wagon until you hit the Devils Bridge trail and take that up to the top. Amazing view and a great payoff to the run. We left the trailhead at 6am and didn’t see another person until we got close to the top where we hit a little traffic from folks who parked and hiked in from closer parking areas. If you want the whole place to yourself, start running at 515-530 I would guess you wouldn’t see anyone else until you were heading back from the bridge. Not too strenuous, mostly rolling hills with a little elevation gain right up till the end where maybe the last 1/4 or 1/2 mile is all up hill and then a little scramble to get to the Devils Bridge. I clocked it on 2 different apps - All Trails had me at 9.9 miles round trip and MapMyRun had me at 10.4 miles. This is probably my favorite run in Northern Arizona and next time we’ll pick up some side trails and extend out to 12-15 miles or so. Beautiful!!
