Alum Hollow Trail section is very well defined and a fun hike. I’d give it a 5 star. The Ranger Trail section of this route is as described (under construction). It’s marked with rock blazes, ribbons and tree tags throughout, but it’s not like the Alum Hollow Trail. We went on Nov. 30 so all the leaves were down and it was sometimes difficult to tell where the trail was. We could see the markers, just couldn’t see a path to get us there at times. It’s also a very rocky. The leaves covered up a few low spots. Our lab mutt (60lb) stepped into a couple of 1’ - 1.5’ holes. (She’s fine.). There’s a nice stream along the way. Not saying it wasn’t fun, but it’s not for kids. I’d give the Ranger Trail section a 2 star. Looking forward to trying it again in a couple of years after construction is complete. It has potential.

The trail was very dry when I hiked it, including the water fall.

Alum trail to the cave was easy and well marked. The Ranger trail was much more challenging to follow and get through. Great hike! We were wondering how the heck that truck got down there as well! Waterfall was not running yesterday.

Great trail and water falls through out the bottom parts of the trail! Hung my hammock up along the water falls and read a great book!

Nice trail. A few rock jumbles to go through that aren't much fun. I'm assuming this trail is named for the 1980-something Ford Ranger at the end. I don't know how that truck could have made it back this far. I wonder if the 1989 tornado deposited it here.
