Grjótagjá is a small lava cave near lake Mývatn that has a geo thermal hot spring inside. The cave also has a rich history, Jón Markússon, an infamous outlaw, lived there and used the cave for bathing in the 18th century. It was a popular site for bathing until volcanic activity made the springs far too hot to bathe in during the 1970s, however to this day it remains a very popular site and was featured in Game of Thrones.
