OH YEAH, some confusion because the Trail indications are not marked as "Small Side Lake" rather just as "Rideau Trail". I did it solo and had a blast. The West side half of the trail is semi technical through deep forest, the East side has all the nice Lake Views. Schedule some extra time to enjoy the views, I totally didin't and found my self picking up the pace as the sunset. I will do it again. PEACE

Lots of wildlife. Beavers, deer, foxes, and a small black bear right near the portage launch. Curious and scared, we both ran and hid. The hike/trail took me to the small slide loop before passing a very tranquil lake I’ll be coming back to kayak.
