The trails are clearly established, and there are maps at every major junction. Its definitely a good beginner trail for either hiking or trail running. The whole walk is mostly in the forest with some mountain views near the peak. There is a creek you have to cross, but theres enough rocks to make the pass easy. Around the start of the trail, you walk behind a golf course and you can hear traffic at times so its not a fully immersive nature hike. I went when it was raining - this worked well for me because I used it to test and break in new hiking boots. The trails didn't get overly muddy and the steep sections were still safe/little chance of slipping. If you go during a sunny day, the trees probably provide a lot of shade. The parking lot has a bathroom.
