sehr schöne Rundwanderung mit einem sehr steilen, aber lohnenswerten Anstieg von ca. 300 m in einer dreiviertel Stunde.

First half of walk there are large mines on either side. It was cool to see an explosion, but not pretty otherwise. There is a short walk through a nice old properties. Vallcarca has nothing, thought it would be a small town. The part between Sitges and Vilanova was really cool and beautiful. Also, the hermitad was really nice

From Barcelona - Espanya station, took the R5 train to Monistrol de Montserrat. Used google maps from the train station to the trailhead - took 10-12minutes. The trail is nicely marked with paint stripes on rocks which was very helpful at times. The trail is pretty exposed, minimal shade, and there are a lot of loose small and medium-sized rocks which can increase chances of slipping or twisting an ankle. The views are fantastic throughout the whole hike. I definitely think hiking is the best way to really appreciate the view of Montserrat and the monastery.

I have recorded this trail from the parking area (see picture of sign post and park here). This makes it 6.5km out and back. It is possible to drive beyond the parking if you have the best vehicle and conditions are good, but walking from parking area makes a great half day hike. The initial wide track climbs through wooded area but offers amazing views. Leave the wide track where the green paint indicates on left hand side. From here walk more steeply on narrow path. Occasional scramble but always feels safe. Fabulous views. Not to be missed!

Carretera secundaria asfaltada muy poco transitada

We hiked this trail in November. Not crowded at all and beautiful, fall-like scenery all around. It offers a good mix of pastures, vistas and woods. The Monastery at the top is gorgeous but not open to the public, which was a bummer. Careful not to accidentally go down the wrong trails. On the descent the trail keepers have marked false paths as such with a big white and red “X” (although you might actually want to check those other trails anyways!). If you finish at Más Albereda, be sure to stay for dinner, it’s excellent

Trés belle balade proche de Barcelone...et pourtant trés agréable.

Beautiful trail with amazing views! I recommend the clockwise ascent without using a funicular (if time permits) ... the trail begins next to the funicular (which you can use if you want to shorten your trip) closer to the st Jeroni ... from the technical perspective is a little bit tougher , but views are amazing and you track your position/progress much better... there are a few points with steep drops but nothing risky ... highly recommend skipping a funicular... I don’t think it is a hard trail... Lots of mountain goats so pay attention. They are easy to spot The best trip/experience of my Barcelona trip My recommendation: start this trail from the monastery clockwise ... early in am ... on the way back to the monastery (sunny weather) the trail takes you back through a heavy wooded area... there are a few nice spots, but nothing in comparison to the other side !

Whilst on holiday in Barcelona we decided to do this walk. Although November the weather was sunny and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. We did the walk back to front as our hotel was nearby. Nice to have points of interest mentioned. The beach area and port are lovely with lots of restaurants, bars and sculptures etc. Thoroughly enjoyed this walk.

Awesome hike, great scenery and views of the mountains .... nothing difficult but worth the climb .... start early cause there’s so much to see , the Monastery and the surrounding mountains are amazing

Bien señalizado el camino en la sierra. Excelentes vistas, y para nada difícil. Estaría bueno que haya más camino de montaña, y menos pasar por pueblos.

Amazing mosey. Got lost in the woods, made friends with a mountain goat and yelped with joy upon reaching the summit. Some of the best views I’ve ever seen.

The google map directions brought me right to the Ruta de Glorieta where there is a magnificent building I think that was used for water control. There is still water moving through the building! A thing I need in my house!!! Plenty to see in the area before setting off in the hike. First off, I highly recommend adding the overlays for Waypoints and Nearby Trails, it will invaluably keep you on track, or decide your diversion as I did close to halfway through the red lined All Trails map. The starting point was a little confusing and I guess I wandered in through some alternate small trails which were fantastic - hiking along little tiny canals where the water ran downwards. This is a really great hiking area all around. Little scrambles here and there, old relics of buildings and past water management systems from who knows how long ago. I decided at about the 4 mile mark to work my way in through the alternate trails. It was well worth it as I was running out of time and it drove me straight into the heart of the woods. I’m downloading a ton of pics which I guess are the first for this trail. There is a fruit all along the trail and I know it edible because I tasted it and it’s delicious! I need to identify it. I’m going to let the pics show you what I saw and keep in mind when you get back to that large building that there are pink peppercorns trees on the property! I may edit this later for a bunch of little tidbits that may be helpful to some. I loved hiking in this area! I highly recommend it if you are anywhere near Tarragon, Spain
