We started off in beautiful autumnal sunshine sharing the same route to Ben Vrackie in spectacular Perthshire woodland. The route to Creag Chuinnlean peeled off to the west around a KIlometre into the woods. This took us up a track currently in use by logging vehicles. Very muddy steep and slippery. This eventually came out to an open trail with great views of the Tay valley over Pitlochry. A couple of hundred meters beyond the road- end the track followed a very overgrown logging route which eventually became impassable around one third of the way round. Sad to say, we had to turn back. DW.

Best accomplished with two cars otherwise you have an appx 5km walk up and over adjacent to the Road. Starts with a scramble up heather covered Meal Gorm. We could not find any really well defined path but you can see the target. Turns into scree covered at creag leachach boundary wall aides navigation although not a smooth walk over stones and rocks. We then walked to Glas Maol and to Cairn of Ciaisse then the very rocky top of Carn an Tuirc and a steep initially rocket descent to the car park. Only one car so a 5km walk up and over passed the ski Centre. With more time recommend adding Tom Buidhe and Tolmount as access the way is easiest apparently. So actually possible to get six Munros in one day with an early start and enough light.

Visited as a day trip from Edinburgh. Took train to pitlochry and walked to trailhead. Trail was wet but in good shape. Steady climbing up to the loch where it became quite steep. Trail was well maintained. Dynamic ecology over the ascent. Not extensive wildlife, but nice flowers and plants at the base. Well trafficked trail but never felt crowded. Must bring gear for rain and good footwear, ideally with poles as the trail was wet (and slick at points near the summit). Would recommend if in the area,’or if you’re looking for a day trip form Edinburgh (train from wAverly to pitlochry then either walk a mile to trailhead or taxi for ~5 pounds)

Partie hors route géniale

Pretty heavy. Very warm in the beginning, rather cold at the top.

Easy to follow trail. Straight up and down. Fairly tough going to reach the summit. Took the dog and she was fine but need to take it steady on the way down.

Nice tour

Abwechslungsreich!

Simple straightforward route with easy path to follow to a point. Off over grassy heather moorland then follow a fence line to summit

Great hike! The views of the valley are breathtaking, and the summit is well worth the climb. Unsurprisingly, very windy! But the loch was lovely, and plenty of benches to enjoy the scenery.

Loch Leven Heritage Trail, Perth kinross Scotland . I've been here many times, and find this a nice easy walk on some very good flat paths that are well maintained. There's lovely views over the loch... you are taken away from the Loch side into wooded path areas for a short time, but still very enjoyable. Once on the turn at the top of the Loch the scenery is lovely. Also lots of places to stop and look at the wild birds. World first Bee Sanctuary also. You can also go on a boat that will take you to a small island where Mary Queen of Scots was held captive. Midges were a problem.. but only in some areas...Enjoy.

Tough long rocky road walk, but once you get off the track it’s easy going to the summit. Just make sure you make the right one. Uneventful walk but views are lovely.

Mild climb up to Loch a Choire, but quite steep to the top.

Im from Perth and done this many times. its flat and very easy to walk. Theres a sports centre with toilets and cafe just by the path your walking. Lovely by the River and lots of nearby shops and restaurants to visit once finished. Perth museum only 2min walk from path by main road.

This was a fun hill walk on a good trail. It was rather blustery and cold since it was Autumn and we were dodging minor rain showers all day but there was also plenty of sunshine. Beautiful scenery all around and particularly from the top of Ben Vrackie.

To get from Kenmore entails pavement walking to the bottom of the Glen Quaich road. From there the single track, paved road winds up to the turn off to the actual trail. The trail itself consists of a broad path through the forest area followed by a decent farm track all the way to Acharn. From there you have to hoof it along the Loch Tay, south side road back to Kenmore. There is traffic, but they respect the "walk friendly" signs. From the trail the Ben Lawers range is visible as is Loch Tay below. Views of Kenmore are great on a sunny day. Lots of sheep around with the occasional deer, pheasant and grouse. Instead of the farm road down from the second bridge over the Acharn Burn, there is a nice trail down the east side with bridge viewpoints of the Acharn falls. The trail also ends in Acharn village. It's a convenient walk from Kenmore, with no transport required, hence I have done it 34 times during my annual pilgrimage from South Africa.
