Wanderung am 29.12.2019. Sehr windig und Nieselregen. Feste Schuhe zu empfehlen. War schön die Berge mal nicht nur von der Straße zu sehen. Top. :)

Great walk through woodland with views up to the Cairngorms. Flat path all the way round. Signposts dotted about so you can shorten or lengthen the walk if you wanted.

Teil eines blauen Rundweges - sehr schöner Weg mit wunderbarem Ausblick auf die Highlands, sowie einem netten See am Scheitelpunkt des Weges. Der Aufstieg entlang des Berges ist steil und steinig aber gut laufen.

Late Nov 19. Do not attempt in Wet or icy conditions! Most of the trail is in great condition but there are a few show stoppers as it would be dangerously slippery which could result in serious injury/death. Recommend a thermal and shell for the accent, put pack a down jacket on the way down. Great historical hike as the MacDonalds escaped the 1692 massacre and their cattle in this valley. There are nice views of the Glencoe valley on the way up, and of the hidden valley but for the region it’s a solid 4

Nice day hike if you do not have all day, or in my case get a later start in November with the short daylight. I did the loop clockwise, opting for path from the green Loch that climbs a bit (right at the fork) more then the left path. This variation had some really nice view of mountains as I made my way back to the visitor's center. Had a bit of snow on the ascent but norhing normal hiking shoes can't handle.

Amazing hike, made it to the valley in good time so pushed on to the ridge above. Keep following the trail up to the saddle then you can summit Bidean Nam Bian if you're feeling fit (we weren't).

Pretty easy for a 2-hour day hike. The north side of the loop is much more interesting than the south side - views of the Cairngorms to the south were a nice backdrop as we were walking along the mostly gravel trail. Only one section offered anything in the way of difficulty, and if you’re doing the loop clockwise, this difficult section is almost exclusively downhill as you approach An Lochan Uaine. The water at An Lochan Uaine is very clear and appears green, and the views from the loch of the surrounding hills and cliffs are worth the relatively low amount of effort required to get there. Overall, if you’re looking for a half-day hike of moderate to strenuous difficulty, this ain’t it. However, if you’re looking for a nice and easy, relatively accessible loop that gives you a little taste of the Cairngorms in under 2 hours, you could absolutely do worse.

I did this hike in mid November, intending to camp in the Lost Valley, however, I set off too late, forgetting that the sun sets early in Scotland in November. So I camped just below the waterfall, off the side of the path, against the mountain, of which, proved to be a good idea. After a night of sleet and wind (I had a good tent and sleeping bag, so remained warm and dry) I left my tent and hiked up to the valley, without any kit. It was a scramble over rocks and in some parts, a narrow rocky path with a steep gully to the side. I was glad I did not try this with a 30lb pack...it was not for me! However, I loved the walk and the camp. The valley was amazing, a lkace where Clan McDonald took refuge after the Glencoe masscre in 1692.

Randonnée assez difficile. Je n’ai pas pu faire la boucle en entier à cause des conditions météo au sommet et de la neige

Really good Hike, steep at points but worth the effort

Really good beginners hills to get into the Highlands of Scotland

Very nice trail. Recommend doing the trail clockwise heading up the mountain trail to start. This would be the left side going up. Once you come out of the woods there is quite a bit of scrambling in the middle section. But the trail is well marked. There are even large piles of rocks along the way to help you know where the trail is. It will get the heart pumping on the way up. The way down is much easier on the opposite side. If you wanted to avoid some scrambling you could go up and down the right side of the trail to make it easier. But the loop is much more fun that’s for sure. The views at the top are incredible. It took us about 4 hours but we stopped many times for photos and had about 30 mins at the top for lunch. You could do it in 3 hrs or less if you move at a fast pace and don’t stop. It was nice to hike a marked trail. Not too crowded. We came across another 8-10 hikers along the whole trail.

A very well maintained trail with a great variety of views - ancient woodland, bleak moorland, grey mountains, plunging gorge. Going clockwise, the rocky scramble after you emerge from the wood is the most challenging section, and could be dangerous in snow and ice. The trail here is not so distinct and easily missed, which can take you near some sheer drops, so care is needed. Takes about 2 hours. Do take a booklet guide with you for some interesting insights along the way, which are waymarked. Highly recommended.
