Beautiful finish, really cool on the way. Last push is tough and altitude makes it a bit tougher, “moderate” is a fair rating

Nice (half-)daytrip from Huaraz. You can take a colectivo for 1 Sole (No. 10 or E) to "Puente Santa Cruz" and start the hike there. You have a really nice view of the Cordillera Blanca. It takes about 1:30h up and 1h down.

We cannot recommend this hike highly enough! Not only is the Laguna 69 incredibly blue & beautiful, the walk to it also is just wonderful with an awesome landscape, waterfalls and other Lagunas on the way. The last kilometer is quite tough though, so be prepared :)

Nice moderate hike up to the beautiful Laguna 69. If you go with a tour they will most likely pick you up around 4.30am from your hostal in a big bus. You then drive for around 2 1/2 hours to a restaurant for a quick breakfast. Have the chicken soup - much better than the bread rolls and will warm you up. After another hour ish you reach the start of the trail. Starts super easy, flat and wide which then goes to long and easy gradually inclined switchbacks. After passing through a valley the hardest and last hour of steep switchbacks. Dont be fooled by the easy start, we saw a lot of people power at the beginning and end up not feeling to well. Slow and steady we got to the laguna which is absolutely stunning. Yes, the hike is very crowded and the hike itself does not have the most exciting scenery, however if you are in Huaraz the laguna is a must!

Loved it! The view was amazing and it was just a short 30 minute trek up.

Did this hike yesterday. The altitude definitely made it strenuous.

A straightforward hike up and back down good for your first acclimated hike. Really only a half day.

Thoroughly stunning views and a challenging hike. I diverted from the main trails on the first two days which was fantastic to give alternative (better) scenery. Loved every moment of this 9 day trek.

A stone paved trail. First 10 minutes up then predominantly flat until the final decent to the jetty for your ferry. More of a walk/stroll to see views and local life.

We were only able to go with a guide and did a bit of glacier trekking. Beautiful view.

Amazing views, beautiful lakes, condors.... not much more you can ask for. Breathtaking!

The trail is easy enough to make during an afternoon but if you are lucky with the weather you will be rewarded with amazing views of the Cordillera Blanca

The trail it beautiful and the lake at the top is certainly worth it! I got lucky with amazing weather and while parts were muddy overall the trail condition was good. Easy overall hike although the last uphill section of 1km is tiring. Take some snacks, water, and sit and enjoy the view at the top!

We did this hike just before the Santa Cruz hike to get a feel for the altitude. the weather wasn't great, we were in the clouds for most of the way and then couldn't see the lake at the top. The hike itself was good, not too difficult and as long as you take it easy the altitude isn't too much of a problem. The lake on the drive up was more of a view that Laguna 69, but again that's because we couldn't see it because of the weather. Still would recommend as for 30 soles (less than £10) it's definitely worth it. (Note: we did this 21st October - so heading into summer/rainy season)
