Great Walk. different types of terrain Forest open road clay path fields and lunch in the courtyard. meeting Game of Thrones people out by Audleys Castle. If you are looking for a serious hike but signage is weak on the gorse rough ferned area heading upwards on way the forest furthest from house. Easy to find your way on wrong track.

A lovely walk for the family and dog walkers. Plenty of amenities and child play areas and ponds.

Took the right track initially passed quarry on trassy track , had a brew and came back down and followed the route to Hares Gap stile.Cut the trek short for time constraints. but the Mourne range never fails to impress.....looking forward to more challenges!!

I have done 5 session of the mourne way out of 6. I really enjoyed it walking along these trails.

If you are looking for a very easy climb with young children etc, while still getting magnificent views, this is for you. The whole climb is just like tarmacced like a road and I was surrounded by very chillaxed sheep (hence no dogs ). But if you want a slightly more challenging, stimulating trail up a mountain among wilderness, go over to the other Mourne mountains, like Slieve Donard or the Brandy Pad Trail. However, I will say that you go over the stile at the end at the top, it's very much worth the visit.

Beautiful views of belfast hill and belfast harbour, nature and history

Went slightly off course at the start, but my fault as I’m stupid and can’t read a simple map! Lovley day for this walk. Sunny with a slight breeze, very windy up on the reservoir though. I’d recommend sturdy shoes for this walk as part of the journey takes you up hill on a narrow path which can be slightly slippery if it’s been raining. Also, watch out for nettles on the upward journey! Excellent views of Silent Valley reservoir from the top of the hill and looking ahead, beautiful view of the sea. Make sure you visit the coffee shop before heading home. Oh by the way. The car park charge is £4.50 and you are given a brochure on the way in. A small charge to spend the morning in such beautiful surroundings.

Path can disappear at times at the North end

Didn't find this hard really, very gradual incline. The last bit towards the summit is a bit more steep but nothing crazy. Was very wet and foggy but the path is clearly laid out.

Challenging trek but worth it for the views alone. Terrain changes often which breaks it up and the Mourne Wall provides perfect shelter from the wind once for the final ascent. Took us about 5 hours at fairly leisurely pace and few breaks. Very steep in places would have been different if wet but overall it was ok although we lost footing the trip down. It was a reasonable clear day and we were able to see Isle of Man from halfway up.

Hiked last november so weather was poor hailstones/snow. we started at the little cafe and went up by the start of the mourne wall. tough climb for 1.5hrs in poor weather but once on top it cleared up.. stunning veiws and the rock formation is a joy. recommend the tough climb to start and ramble on top and a gradually hike down and back to cafe for hot choclate.

Very expensive (11 GBP ) access and you get... Sunday family run for 30 min around the farm. This is a joke

This mountain ⛰ is brilliant and it has something for everyone from fairy gardens for kid's and long walks and climbing for all abilities of adults I don't live far from it which is great so I cycle

Tough but worth it. Very cloudy day so not once could we see the summit during the ascent until it was metres in front of us. Despite the poor visibility, the scenery that we could still make out was raw and breathtaking. The path along the river is kind, along the quarry is nonexistent and along the mourne wall is steep. We were rewarded with snow at the top which acted as a perfect cooler for our celebratory beers. Great day out

Decent trail with easy walking paths (dirt road really) until the base of the steepest accent. Be prepared for wind and a steep final kilometer. When you hit the wall note that you can walk on either side to protect you from the wind. Path from trailhead is easier than trail from Newcastle. Also, trail from Newcastle side is mostly granite cobbles and we found it to be harsh to walk on. Check weather before climb as the peak is often shrouded in fog.

Great hike. Weather conditions were not favorable but still enjoyed none the less. Beautiful scenery and good challenge.

Great walk very sore on the legs but worth it glad I done it

My favourite hike in the whole of Ireland. Differing terrain on the way up consiting of forestry ,stone paths leading up to the great wall ...of Ireland ...then the ascent to the summit ...breathtaking sea views on a clear day ... highly recommend it
