If it's a clear day then it's definitely worth walking past the first viewpoint all the way to the end of the track for the best views of the glacier.

Walk in the park to two glacier viewpoints. Trail wide and well kept, all the way to the last viewpoint. Strollers, weelchairs or flip flops can get to the first viewpoint. after that, I'ld wear some footwear as the track is a bit rocky.

Really cool trail, steep uphill the path with beautiful tree roots everywhere. I went pretty slow and finished in 3 hours (return). Nice views at the top, many waterfalls, not far from the snow

Hiked this trail earlier this year. It is a popular trail and pretty easy to do. As mentioned in other reviews, you don't get all the way up to the glacier because it has receded (there are informative signs along the trail about how the glacier has changed).

Schöner kleiner Spaziergang durch den neuseeländischen Wald. Teilweise über Stege. Endet am Lake Kaniere mit schöner Aussicht. Der Kiesstrand ist etwas klein. Bei uns war aber auch nicht viel los.

Beautiful walk in the morning as the sun just rises above the mountain ridge.

Right now not possible to walk the loop. Not always reflective on the lake but pretty views anyway.

Good track. Pretty cool to cross the river via big rocks. Good view of glacier.

Awesome hike but not for the faint of heart, as it was quite a challenge. There are four suspension bridges and one set of non-traditional stairs. You have to scramble through some rocky stream footbeds and over some steep granite slabs, which keeps your mind working the whole. It was a lot of effort, but the glacier views at the end were worth it.

Short, easy hike. If it is clear you have stunning views at the pond. If it is cloudy, it’s just an easy walk to a small pond. Not crowded at all though!!

Headed out around 7:30am and the trail was not crowded. Saw great mirrored reflections, but by the time we were leaving some clouds were moving in. We ate a snack later in the day at the cafe and then the trail was much more crowded. So go early!

Beautiful track at intermediate level - no part is heavily challenging. At the moment, the track has been rerouted at the start due to washouts, but no biggie and clearly signposted. We did the first few creek crossings in jandals before switching to boots. The whole track was fun and adventurous, so should be fun with children that have some experience, too! At a hearty pace, we made it up in 05h45min and down in 05h15min, including generous breaks for foods, pictures, and change of shoes. If it takes longer than expected to Architect Creek, no worries - it is NOT the halfway point, but more like 2/3! Hit the pools after sunset to avoid sandflies and - pro tip - take a bottle of water into the pool so you can have a warm shower afterwards.

Easy, very popular trail. We were a bit disappointed that we couldn’t get closer than 1000 meters from the glacier. Beautiful valley, but next time we’ll take the trail across the valley for better views and less people

Great trail, Pororari river was the best part of it, I would consider the rest of the walk a good workout with nice bush views and a ~120m hill crossing. It’s a good idea to do this loop if you want to visit the pancake rock/blowhole atrraction and the caves, otherwise I would do the Pororari river up and back. Combine them all for a good 4 hour hike.

Nice and easy walk by a river showcasing a beautiful coastal rainforest and amazing limestone formations. HIGHLY recommended! Good for kids, running - anything really.

Beautiful trail, fun and relatively easy for all ages (our group age range was 7-74). Went at noon, was cloudy/drizzly and the glacier was covered with clouds on/off. We were lucky to get a few minutes of good visibility when we got closer to the glacier, but it’s unpredictable. Children had lots of fun running safely in the valley, over the rocky portion of the trail (otherwise you need to watch little ones on the walk down to the valley and up at the edge near the glacier view). Lots of waterfalls and lovely natural scenery.

Did the Copland track with my girlfriend Cecylia. Both the trail and her are amazing. I love her (the trail). 5.5 hours on the way there and 6 back. Doable in 5 with no breaks and a faster pace. Hot springs are amazing

Amazing hike! Went with my dad in March 2019 the only day of the week it wasn’t pouring rain and we really lucked out. Slippery but worth it.

Had a great fun while trying to make it to the top before the clouds. Uphill took 66min and downhill 55min (and had still time for photos and snacks). I recommend trekking poles as the trail is somewhat technical. Moreover, early bird gets the best pics. Check out my trip on Strava: https://strava.app.link/8ZJf6BdqM2
