Nice walk. A guy told us to use the cycle for the way back and he was right, it was easier. Once at the snout, there is a little path to go close to the water, the lookout is pretty nice!!

Nice walk, nice view once on top.

Park outside the tennis courts. The directions are incorrect

Great track. Left hand fork is steeper but shorter incline. Right hand is gradually winding up the hill.

Nice level walk out to an old shipwreck. We followed another trail back to make it a loop.

Spectacular views. Well Maintained. Definitely a great time

We took the water taxi to Torea Bay and hiked to Mistletoe Bay, with a quick jaunt to the amazing Onahau lookout. A stunning walk start to finish.

Gorgeous views! Steep hike straight up the ridge, very windy, but well worth it. A good workout and rewarding views. There’s a water station at the top.

Great track to get your heart rate up as it's a solid ascent either side, and works your quads just as much on the way down. lots of it is shaded by the trees which also unfortunately doesn't help with the views. The loop was a great option to cover different ground, and end up on the beach before heading back to the car - recommend if you're up for a hike that will make you work hard!

Great trail (Trig K trail on the map of the grounds), but be aware that it’s mostly just a trodden trail if you do the whole thing - not for the weak of ankles. Took us about 2.5 hours, and we went up the steep part first and ended by passing the waterfalls. Beautiful (but chilly)!

Moderate hike with beautiful views over the pristine Queen Charlotte Sound. Highly recommended!

Great wee walk. Just over an hour at a medium pace

Great wee walk up into the hills over looking Blenheim. Track is a bit washed out from recent heavy rain so probably wouldn't walk it in Jandals :)

not a long walk, but rather steep. great views from the top. on a clear day you can see the north island.

Clearly marked trail leading to a great view. Elevation is a bit steep at points, but doable. We saw hikes of all ages.

Nice easy walk, view is great

Walked the entire length in dec 2017. It was a beautiful track with plenty of variety in scenery. The views of the sounds are incredible. I recommend taking some side trails to really get the most out of this tramp. The camp sites are well maintained.

exactamente como la descripción anterior solo vale la pena la subida, si subís al radar de la cima. eso me dijeron :-)

Nice walk from Dungannon backpackers hostel. the last two roads felt long, overall I was amazed at the views from the top of Mt Vernon. Spectacular watching the sunset on the way up and from the lookout. Steep terrain coming down, sign saying it can be slippy especially in the wet. I would agree.

Très agréable, Petite randonnée tranquille bien aménagée.

Really good trail. Drive up to the carpark if you can--you can walk up from town but that walk isn't nearly as nice as the actual trail. Trail itself has beautiful overlooks of the Sound quite often and has interesting forest flora when there aren't views. End of the trail gets you almost to the water's edge. Bathroom about halfway through trail at a little rest spot/clearing. Potential negatives: trail gets muddy after rain, wear shoes that can handle mud. Also, limited seating at the end (one bench, pretty windy) if you're the picnicking type plan accordingly.

Fun little slice of tidal wetlands. If you like that sort of thing you'll dig it. Good views of waterfowl + inverts along the river. Shipwreck is cool and has a picnic table for a mid-loop break. Trail can get a bit muddy and was very windy when I walked it.

It was very muddy. This may have been due to heavy rain two days prior. It was very slippy at times The hike doesn't offer much in the ways of views being mostly under forest. The "snout" at the end is very pleasant and windy.
