Other half of trail is now reopened so makes for a nice loop!

Gorgeous walk! Great bang for your buck for an accessible walk right from the ferry. Definitely athletic with lots of ups and downs. A perfect day.

Beautiful hike. However, one segment was closed.

Good walk not as easy as I expected

only half of the track was closed but was able to complete a full loop back to the car by going the road way didnt realy extend the total amount of the walk

Good walk couldn't do whole loop as track was partly closed for maintenance so had to finish via road total this way was 8.4km

Heaps of stairs but worth

Great trail if you’re looking for nice 360 views of the city. Path is paved and wide the whole way. I could see One Tree Hill clearly today.

Good mix of parks and sidewalks along streets. Beautiful day, Jan 10, 2020.

Easy trail over volcanic landscapes, up to summit, down to lava caves and returning to the wharf

Plenty of steps to get the heart rate up. High intensity lower duration type hike. Starts off with multiple steps and transitions to a semi scramble to the top over tree roots etc. Can get muddier on the top half during wetter seasons

Great run vice versa, from Long Bay to Takapuna, esp. in summer. Get dropped off at the start point. Run along the coast, and finish off with a swim at Takapuna Beach, and a coffee at the Beach Cafe, or a cheeky wine at the many local bars. You will get wet depending upon the tide, but not for long. Be wary of the inlet at Milford Beach. It's known to be polluted, so don't dip your head under if you have to swim it, 10-15m at high tide. Also, mind your footing when running along the coastal volcanic rocks

This trail is nice and easy. I found it had a good incline and wasn’t too long. The track is covered most of the time and I counted 4 fallen trees on the path. If you go clockwise you’ll find the trail markers disappear once you start heading back, it’s okay though because trail is pretty obvious. I didn’t do the second lookout because weather wasn’t so great. I managed to complete the track in under 2 hours.

Beautiful views all along this trail. Well marked for the most part. Grass and gravel/dirt paths :)

This is an easy walk with 360 degree views of Auckland from the summit. A new boardwalk is currently (Dec 2019) being constructed to preserve the rim of the crater and so during the construction process many of the alternative paths leading up to the summit are closed, with only the road being open. There are multiple places to park, well maintained public restrooms and a fabulous historic tearooms, Whau Cafe. This also houses an interactive information centre.

nice track, little bit narrow towards the end. took me about two hours. the Wairoa lookout isn't worth the ten minute detour, its overgrown and the look out platform looks dodgy. beware of a few fallen trees on the track. would do this again.

Lots of elevation changes. I’d rate it as moderate. Fantastic views

Beautiful scenery along the coast. Be aware that the trail is closed at Church Bay. Must terrace steps to get back to Oneroa.

Nice and easy walk! A good one to do with the family!

Is this trail open?

Great track, well maintained

Great trail. The Coastal segment is quite rocky with lava, need very good shoes. The rest is more of a crushed rock road. Summit with beautiful views. Highly recommended.
