This trail DEFINITELY IS ACCESSIBLE, WETHER YOU ARE A GUEST OF THE RESORT OR NOT. You cannot DRIVE to the trailhead, but you can park and walk onto the property from the panga launch beach in Ligui (directly across the bay from the hotel). If they say anything, tell them Villas Palmar does not own the beach... they know this is true and they will leave you alone. If they insist, tell they you want to see the General Manager... then they will leave you alone for sure. Walk on the beach around the bay to the trailhead, and then you will be good-to-go. This is a nice hike, but there are better hikes near there.

We had read great reviews of this hike and were eager to hike the trail. We drove from Loreto to the entrance of the Villa de Palma/Danzanate Bay Clubs in order to access the trailhead. The man at the gate told us that we could only hike the trail if we were members or staying at the resort. We were quite disappointed. We feel that AllTrails should have vetted this trail better and take it off their site as an option for the general public.

belle rando avec une vue de l'océan et des cactus. Il avait beaucoup de touristes pour aller voir le champignon en forme de rocher.

This trail became one of my favorites. It's perfect for just a walk or even a good hardcore training. Just a few minutes drive. Cabo Nomads was very helpful and the work out they did for me was just perfect. This page on Facebook was recommended to me. They have many other options for nature walk or even just a day at the beach. Totally recommended #CABONOMADS

This is basically a dirt road up to a cell tower site. It’s not challenging. There are some nice territorial view and some cactus, seasonal flowers, etc. if you taxi to Home Depot you can walk up the mountain from there.

Easy and a beautiful waterfall. It’s only about a 10 minute walk from where you park.

sehr schöne aber auch anspruchsvolle Wanderung. musste an einer Stelle einen Stacheldrahtzaun überqueren

Check out our Youtube Video Tour here: https://youtu.be/quRKZrPyc80 This is a lovely Oasis and swimming hole with fresh clean water fed by a lagoon. You can hike to the bottom of the waterfall and enjoy the view and swim in the falls. You can also hike to the top of the falls and check out the lagoon. We opted to hike down. Be careful going down, it's very steep but there are ropes and hand rails. The hike down took about 7 minutes. The fee to get in was 220 pesos/person which is $15 CAD or $12 USD. The water is cool and refreshing which is perfect for a hot day in BAJA. It was an easy hour's drive from San Jose del Cabo, and an hour and a half from Cabo San Lucas. If you are in the area you also have to check out Santa Rita Hot Springs!

Check out our Youtube Video tour here: https://youtu.be/quRKZrPyc80 Ok, so who wants to sit in a Jacuzzi-like hot spring on a hot sunny day? We do. AFTER a nice refreshing swim in the cool springs just in front of and just past the hot spring. When we got there on a hot day, we cooled off in the cold spring. Once we cooled off we headed over to the hot spring. Then back to the cold spring. We pay a lot back home to enjoy this experience at the Scandinavian Bath Spas. Here at the Rancho Ecologico Santa Rita it is simply 172 pesos, $9 USD, or $12.25 CAD. Not only is the experience budget-friendly, but the surrounding oasis will take your breath away. It's just past the very small and sleepy town of Santiago. It's an hour and a half drive from Cabo San Lucas and an hour's drive from San Jose del Cabo.

Great swimming hole in the middle of nowhere. 1.5 hours from Cabo and the last 20 minutes is a dirt road. Our little rental car did just fine. Clean bathrooms at the lodge and lots of fish and pools to look at and swim In once we hiked in. Definitely take the trail past the waterfall and check it out. Short hike in. Small little beaches next to the pools you can relax at and stay for a while. Good adventure if your ok with the drive.

Great views. Not kid friendly.

Beautiful alternative to the Bench to Beach loop.

Very nice route, great variation. Few sketchy spots if you are mountain biking. Ignore the last bit of my route before the road, not a trail at all just to stubborn to backtrack.

Great trail for running, hiking or mountain biking. Lots of ups and downs, twists and turns. Great views.

When driving, follow signs for the nature preserve- it will be slightly off course from how Google maps will route you. $6 entry fee per person, they accept American dollars or pesos. Clean bathrooms at the lodge and additional restrooms on the trail. Trail itself is fairly short but steep right into the canyon. Sneakers are ideal, but could be done in flip flops as well. Waterfall itself is beautiful but small. The water itself is cool, clean and great for swimming. We overall had a great time but not sure if it's worth the 1.5 hr drive from Cabo San Lucas.

This trail actually goes further than the map shows if you cross the river at the second crossing and follow the foot prints. Hopefully someone will map the rest. An amazing hike that most people miss because they only stop 1/4 mile in for the waterfall.

Done this many times... Even before any hotels were on the beach. Not the same anymore.

Incredible little hike. Easy to find trail head you just need to bring $7 per person for a fee. Trail to the waterfall is only about 1/4 mile. There’s a cool little creek and more pools if you go on top of the waterfall and hike around.
