Impassible after the first km. Flooded, dirty, lots of trash. Do something valuable for yourself and have a cup of coffee instead.

Percorso molto bello e panoramico fino alla Piana (azienda agricola), facile - poi per la discesa al mare (cala del ceppo) diventa più difficile. bambini sopra 12 anni.

very nice hike. Just a litle bit dangerous on the road with the cars at the beginning and in the middle of the walk.

beautiful views

Beautiful views of vineyards and the old town. My only complaint is that it can be dusty when cars pass you on the gravel road.

We found this by chance as we were traveling thru the area. We had a hard time finding out how to begin the hike. Find the beginning of the tram and head right of the ticket booth. We chose to go right as we approached the loop portion. The stations of the cross our on this side of the loop. Once at top the hill there is a beautiful village that we didn’t expect. The trail weaves thru the village often between properties. Amazing views. Restaurants and a beautiful church await. On the descent we found a dotted line portion that brought us thru an olive grove. A beautiful mistake.

Wonderful trails, the Via Francigena signs were very clear and were off road most of the time. The trail indicated o. AllTrails stays on road - perhaps it was routed during bad weather. We followed the Via signs exclusively and think AllTrails should edit the route accordingly.

This was a nice trail for a bit of exercise and lovely scenery that feels as if it’s in a storybook. There are small backyard farms near the trail head with vine grown tomatoes. The water by the river is an icy shade of blue and it is present throughout the hike. There are also some fun bridges that are made from large rocks and rope that add to the fairy tale vibes.

I did this trail with my kids who are 8 and 12. It’s a fairly easy trail with shady spots and some open areas. The river is beautiful and there are several places to go for a swim. There were lots of other hikers/swimmers when we went.

Nice walk! Very steeo in the beginning if you take the right choice. Beautiful views!

Great route. I did it with my girlfriend on a hot day in July. The view in top is simply breathtaking and the route to the top is very nice. Small minor is the wat back which was pretty bewildered and it was sometimes hard to get through the plants. Overall, I would defenitely recommand it!

Great hike!! Slightly overgrown the first 1000m. Rewarding to hike to Barga for a cafe 1/2 way through.

A beautiful city full of cultural and historical beauty.

5.8.19. Fabulous views over the Tuscan hills on this short, but spectacular hike. Starting and ending at the Santuario Della Verna monastery, we went clockwise around the loop, stopping to take in the stunning views from the Monte Penna summit. Beautiful Beech and Pine woods all the way, and well marked with red/white blazes. My stats as a guide: Distance: 2.1 miles Elevation Gain: 627 feet Moving Time: 1:00:05

Short walk. Round trip 2 hrs. It's easy moderate.

Very nice. Captivating with all the different flowers and plants. Water is so blue and beautiful

Great view and amazing place to walk.

Easy long walk with stunning views of San Gimigniano and Tuscany. It is an absolute must to stop at Fattoria Poggio Alloro for lunch (prebook on weekends only in the winter)
