Great trail, well maintained and empty in low season

Enjoyed experiencing this amazing trail with my wife on our vacation. We hiked this trail during the off-season in November, so we only came across a handful of other hikers and some cats. We were extremely lucky to get the perfect three hour window without rain to reach Vernazza from Monterosso al Mare. I recommend this trail, especially during off-season, to anyone wanting to walk a perfect path.

Good trail. Beautiful/one of a kind views. Heavily trafficked (and it was end of October and overcast). Go early. Ocean view Trails are closed if/when it rains hard, which is logical due yo smooth stones of path and hard packed dirt.

4 hour hike that if you are going to do any trails in the cinque Terre this is a must.

Fun hike, but the stairs are the real deal.

A hike you will never forget, challenging but worth it

Steep incline from Monterosso, somewhat flat in the middle, and more gradual incline into Vernazza. Mixture of paved roads and rocks. Pretty strenuous, so recommend being in decent shape and having good traction. Would do it again! Enjoy!

Amazing hike. Nice to start with a coffee at Levanto beach, then steady incline up to a peak with incredible views of the entire Cinque Terre. Well maintained trails, awesome sea views and nicely scented plants. Steep decline into Monterosso.

Much easier this direction than the reverse - the incline is gentle with awesome views of Vernazza. Nice coastal walk with meandering trail. Steep decline at the end but finishes on the beach for a swim!

Nice walk, bit of an incline but easily manageable. Nice views of the coast. Slippery when it’s wet.

We began around 10:15 in Camogli and made it to San Fruottoso by 13:00 before making the trek back around 15:00 (not advisable for those who don’t enjoy direct sun.) Many switchbacks and rapid elevation gains, some scrambling, and use of chains. Challenging, but absolutely beautiful.

Trail closed. Didn’t indicate until when

Very rocky which it made it challenging as it just rained. Good hike overall and a beautiful view

Trail closed until 2021

Loved the hike. Tough inclines and challenging but the beauty at the top is so worth it.

Not as busy as the other trails and more natural.

This trail has a lot of stairs going at a steep incline , especially leaving Riomaggiore. Watch out for bees and wasp hidden in bushes. My group went over the car bridge and through the car tunnel due to the SVA/ del amore/ ocean side trail being closed for the remainder of 2019. Pretty short trail. Only took about 45 minutes at a steady slow pace.
