Fantastic hike, though don’t get your hopes up there will be a view at the top. The wind and fog bring the temperature down so you might want to bring a hat, scarf, and gloves. The devil’s ladder is a really fun rock scramble with water going throughout. Go slow. Also, be weary of the muddy bogs and slick grass. Better to stick the rocks. Also, the cronies yard charges two euros.

one of the toughest walks in Ireland in November 23th .enjoyed getting back to the car.

This trail was awesome, even in the pouring rain. Granted the view from the top was covered by fog, but the hike was enjoyable and the way up was beautiful. Definitely gets windy at the top and would highly recommend waterproof shoes when doing this hike.

What a fantastic hike to the top of Ireland. Weather was light mist with moments of rain. This time of year and weather revealed some beautiful full cliff waterfalls. Devils ladder is something to take serious, but can be accomplished with proper boots. Due to the weather and therefore sloppy rocks on Devils ladder, decided to take the zig zag route for the descent.

amazing 100% recommend

Lots of fun. Wear good shoes and make sure you hike the trail in counterclockwise direction.

The loop around Muckross Lake can be done almost flat if instead of climbing the mountain in the south side of the lake you keep close to the lake shore and the Ring of Kerry road. You can complete the loop in under 3 hours. We combined this loop with an earlier climb on the Torc Mountain trail.

Just 10 minutes from Killarney, very convenient short hike that can be combined with the loop around Muckross Lake. Early morning left the car in the parking lot and headed on a paved road for about a mile and then a narrow trail up the mountain. Out and back from the parking lot in about 2 hours. Then headed by car to the Meeting of the Waters where you can park and there is a very nice lodge by the lake shore where you can have a snack. Hike around the lake took us another 2 and a half hours with a stop at the Torc Falls. We were back in Killarney before 2 pm.
