Smashing Hike, bit of everything, hill walking, rock walking, scrambling, nice ridge climb and stunning views while doing all the above. Any mountain person will enjoy this hike.

Nice route. Be prepared with appropriate footwear for the ascent up the rocks. You will be warm

We heard this hike was muddy and mostly through roads - not too appealing - so we hitchhiked and skipped this day of the Kerry Way.

Lovely views - highly recommend Our specs: We are in shape, 24 years old; we hiked this trail mid-October. The whole week was rainy, though the day we hiked this was sunny and beautiful out. Trail was in and out of mountain range as well as beach and rocks. The trail was quite muddy due to recent rain. Sheep all over made for a pleasant interaction with the country-side. The ocean view and island spotting parallel to us also made for a pleasant and comforting walk.

Lots of fun. Wear good shoes and make sure you hike the trail in counterclockwise direction.

very sheer, tough in places, potential danger with with just wind and rain.

Undoubtably a crazy challenging yet amazing hike. In bad weather though you must be very vigilant. Hiked this in the middle of a storm, strong wind and rain causing very minimum visibility and very slippery rocks. The trail is easy to lose in many places.

This was a fun hike and we took the alternate coastal route. Great paths and views. However, more road walking than I’d like.

The first part of this was beautiful but it’s through a lot of pastures and we had to hike through a lot of muck. We were lucky that it had been dry for a few days, this hike would be miserable in the rain. We took a wrong turn at the top of the second hill, instead of turning right and going along the ridge, we ended up on the “alternate route” to Caherdaniel, so we had about 4 miles of road walking to get back on track (which was boring!).

Great views at the top!! Best to follow the trail in the direction advertised, as the rocks could be very slippery/dangerous if going down the wrong direction.

This is a challenging section of the Kerry Way and about 4 miles longer than the guide book. It’s very muddy and rocky. This route takes you to Blackstone House via the road for the last 4 miles. We skipped the road and too the old Kerry Way though the countryside which ultimately didn’t save us any time. Beautiful views!

Loved this bit. Wide open mood with lots of ancient rock markers on the trail. Great views and some historical bits at the end.

Good trail conditions on a sunny day, the route was easy to follow. hikers should be aware that it a one way counterclockwise and I think that the steps could be difficult downwards if wet. Definitely good getting the heart rate up.

Not the best trail running conditions, definitely more suited as a hike. Very well marked route, and the stairs between fields are in good condition. The main thing that will slow you down is the thick mud, in which I nearly lost my shoe a few times... it’s like quicksand! Drainage is poor, so make sure your shoes are waterproof or you’ll be soaked in minutes. The trails are narrow and uneven, so take your time and watch your step. Fantastic views from both sides of the ridge, and plenty of animals alongside you. The road back to the start is narrow, so beware of speeding cars.

Gorgeous views and very nice walk through fields of sheep - we took the Mass Path to the beach as well which was lovely by the water.

Took the Pilgrim's Route up and down from the car park (€3) at IV 48123 82960. A good trail, with fine views. Solo. Busy, for an Irish mountain. Despite it being high summer, conditions on the summit plateau required anorak and gloves. I rate it between moderate and hard - a marked trail nearly all the way.

Unbelievable views and got all four high peaks in one go

Best climb around. There is a small parking lot at the bottom. Its 6 miles to the top and back. Didn’t see another person the 3 hours we were there. No shade on the climb so wear sunscreen. It was windy and colder at the top so bring a wind breaker. 2200 feet ascent. I was sore the next day.

This is a wonderful trail over rugged wind-swept hills. We saw another person only rarely. Beautiful secluded waterfall midway (suitable for the first of May). First half is on gravel road; second half on stones and wooden boards over the marshy bits.

This was my final segment on my Dingle Way Walk and it was my least favorite. I started in Camp and went to Tralee. My recording showed the mileage and elevation to be much different than the app showed. The app also had the trail out of Camp being different than the actual Dingle Way Trail. I couldn’t find the trail showing on the app and ended up following the signs after backtracking a few times.
