Awesome little trail to get out of the car and stretch your legs. Did this hike in mid-september and the colors of the vegetation surrounding the trail were beautiful. If you are passing by would highly recommend stopping at this short hike. Small cave with some history on the trail and climbing the boulders was awesome too!

Beautiful flat walk through a pasture and then the beach with cliffs behind. Take off your shoes! Drive down is hairpin turns so agree with other reviews not for the faint hearted

Nice walk along the cliffs. Even in September lots of bird activity (no puffins).

did the hike in march so there were no puffins unfortunately but was still a magnificent experience. the drive to the cliffs gets a bit sketchy

This was very impressive and really easy to get to! I am so happy we took the ferry and this detour—what beautiful country the westfjords are!!

Great spot and it was on the way to where I was going, west fjords is an amazing place, if I could have spent more time up here I would.

Awesome place to visit, easy flat walk, but check tide times as it may be WAY out. The drive down though is not for the faint hearted.

This is a beautiful area and an nice walk that gets progressively more difficult and has lots of viewing points.

nice viewpoint, small trail to stretch your legs.. climbing the boulders is fun too

The start point appears to be a private property. You will need to park in the bit of land that has water on both sides just before the house. This isn't a marked trail, so you are really just exploring. We hiked up a bit to have lunch with a nice view of the valley, though if you are like us and used to marked trails, it's hard to shake the feeling of wandering illegally. Very beautiful!

Easy day hike. To be honest, I'm not even sure I took this exact route, I think my route was more south and west. Anyhow, it's nice and worth it :)

Did it as a day hike will waiting for my boat in hesteyri. It's good to have a gps for the pass, but other than that really the way is obvious, especially going up the radar where it follows a road. Expect some river crossing and wet ground.

Hiked Adlavik to the Ruins. Great views although in a cloud with limited visibility; run in with an arctic fox and the ruins were still spectacular. Adlavik to Hesteyri. Tremendous landscapes and views.

Easy. Beautiful. Wet!!

Dynjandi or Fjallfoss waterfall is the biggest waterfall in the Westfjords and is for sure the Bridal Veil of Westfjords. There are 6 other waterfalls below Dynjandi, which one passes on the way to the biggest waterfall. The names of the other waterfalls are, from above: Hæstahjallafoss, Strompgljúfrafoss, Göngumannafoss, Hrísvaðsfoss, Hundafoss and Bæjarfoss, which is also called Sjófoss. "Foss" is the Icelandic name for a waterfall. To get to Dynjandi there is a bit of a hike and on the way up are all these smaller waterfalls. There is a man-made path leading up to the waterfalls and quite a climb getting up to Dynjandi. Volunteers made the path back in 1996.
