We found Bus # 92R to be the most convenient bus to take to the trailhead if you plan to transfer from MTR. 92R only runs on Sundays, at about 25 minutes interval, from MTR Diamond Hill Station (钻石山 ) to Wong Shek Pier (黄山码头). Get off at Pak Tam Au stop (北潭凹) (not at Pak Tam Au Management Center). The bus ride took us about one hour.

To get here Monday to Saturday, take 20R minibus from tai po market minibus terminus at mtr station. Get there early, as one bus per hour and only 16 seats. Get off at bride's Pool stop walk all the way down main path past both bbq sites. A good warm-up is to jog and stop at mirror pool via brides pool path, left to cross bridge up stairs to right takes 30 min Max. It's stunning beautiful waterfall. Don't confuse with bride's Pool Waterfall on Google map. Then jog back at intersection take a left Up and another left to get to plover Cove reservoir hike trail head. The walk is as advertised ie never ending ups and downs. The first flat section is behind a hill facing away from reservoir about a third of the way which is nice for a little jog. At about after 12km (from start trail head) is another steep hill but not that high. At reservoir dam, it's concrete road all the way to ting kok road. To get over 18km I measured from start trail head sign to the ting kok road bus terminal. Water is definitely required I drank 500ml coke before hike, 3x700ml vita water during the trail. It took me 5.5hrs from 9am. If u start later, bring more water as sun will be on top of you!

Officially closed, Sharp peak ascent is one of my favourite hike in HK. This one is great in Oct/Nov, when it’s hot enough to take a dip in Ham Tin and finish quietly back to Sai Wan Pavilion. Highly recommended

Wu Kau Tang - Lai Chi Wo - Luk Keng

Wu Kau Tang - Lai Chi Wo - Luk Keng

Make sure you take time to enjoy each of the three falls. They may not be so huge or wide but that’s exactly why they are easy to go near to and even take a dip (when there are few people at the falls). Take Exit A (Tai Wo Plaza Mall) from the Tai Wo Station and go down through a small staircase inside the mall that leads to the street level. Ride the 64K bus to Ng Tung Chai Village and start your hike from there. There are forked roads but the directional signs are easy to follow. You will pass by a Temple (buy a drink inside if your thirsty after walking for about 20 mins) and then from there you have another 30 mins more or less to get to the Bottom Falls (the first one). The second (Middle) and third falls (Main) are not so far but the trail there is moderately steep. Upon reaching the Main Falls, it is suggested that you turn back and follow your way back to your starting point. I didn’t see much wildlife. The literature I read also said the same thing (not much). This can be categorized as a leisure hike and thus, setting aside half of your day for this hike is recommended. I did this in 3:00 with lots of picture taking pauses and immersive rests marveling at each majestic falls.

Arguably one of the top ones in HK on a sunny day. Leave early to enjoy the trail and finish at Ham Tin beach (11km). Good to know: you can choose by taking a boat back or walk back, always good to have the option!

Definitely a challenging hike for Hong Kong. Many places are quite steep with gravel and small rocks. Great views of the Pat Heung valley!

A wonderful trail that takes you to the summit of Tai Mo Shan. Tai Mo Shan is the highest peak in Hong Kong and makes this trail a High traffic area. Locals are friendly and most speak a little bit of English. I would rate this trail easy and achievable by beginners as long as they set a pace and don't turn back. The views are wonderful and inspirational! This trail will be unforgettable! Enjoy!

If you start from Kadoorie Farm it feels like never ending stairs. The views are quite lovely along the ridge but eventually the numerous peaks and valleys become annoying and you just want it to end.

One of the very best hikes in Hong Kong. A solid 4 hours and quite a climb, but the trail. the scenery and the views are exceptional.
