Going from Mui Wo to DB is more fun in my opinion, lots of stairs on the way up then a leisurely walk down to DB

Moderate twin peak hike. Trial is kept in good condition.

Great for a stopover at HKG. Take a taxi to Pak Kung Au and hike from there to the Buddha. You can probably take the gondola back close to the airport from there. The trail is steep; the hike alone took us almost 4 hours in total. Pretty exposed, but great views if it’s not cloudy. Most of it is rock stairs, so easy to do even with sneakers. Bring water and sun protection.

Hard on the knees, but doable on a long layover.

Beautiful & scenic... the main touristy area of Ngong Ping is rather peaceful, although I'm sure this was due to me visiting it at an off peak time, late pm.

Nothing special, but nice waterfall near Mui Wo.

I started from Tai O. Shortly after leaving the Tai O area the trail is really over grown... but it’s a very short segment (the over grown part...just keep pushing through). Nice views of the water and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge along the first 3 miles or so. After that it’s mostly shaded and leading through forest. Lots of butterflies!

Trail eventually is overgrown and passable with long pants. Prior to this it is paved.

All stairs basically, hard but worth it

Wonderful hike for sunrise! This hike is a great workout with a nice amount of elevation gain. Finding the trailhead was a little tricky, especially getting on the trail before sunrise. I provided photos of the trailhead to help.

Steep rock cut steps, clear route to follow even in low cloud.

Great hike great day in Lantau w/Erich Pfanzelt

Decidedly more difficult than expected. Once you start the decent into Discovery Bay, the path is very, very steep and with a bit of rain, could be very slippery. We saw one person crawling down on their bum, while we also saw someone with their dog run down. So I would say go slowly unless you are very familiar with the trail. Otherwise, very pleasant walk if you have 3-4 hours!

I loved this trek. Please note that I did this during a sweltering HK August day and after a MASSIVE storm the night before. Those conditions made deep swimming holes along the way to the falls (a welcome treat for the heat). It also made parts of the trek tricky to navigate, which included chest deep pools to wade through. Still though... I never felt worried OR out of control. Felt longer than 3 miles, but I explored a bit as well. ALERT! This is a Stream Trekking trail, i.e. walking/climbing in wet conditions. Dress accordingly!

This is a favourite hike for my family. It is fairly easy only a few steep parts. Harder to do when the weather is extremely hot and humid. Lots of stairs on the decent to MW. My knees begin to hurt half way down. But overall a lovely hike!

Beautiful hike, but challenging in the June heat!

Amazing trail! Incredible views! Great little villages between the first climb and the second climb (especially Pak Mong village, where you can get a cold drink from the little cafe, which someone will be able to point you to). This trail is of ADVANCED DIFFICULTY!! Do not attempt this trail alone or in the summer heat. Bring a lot more water than you think you’ll need. You will drink it all.

The trail you will find here doesn’t actually arrive to the very top of Lin Fa Shan, Sunset Peak and Lantau Peak but the trail is very easy to find. I went on top of all 3 the peaks and the view are just stunning. It’s a long hike and deserves respect, be well prepared with a lot of water and proper hiking gear. MOST IMPORTANTLY PLEASE DO NOT LITTER THIS BEAUTIFUL ENVIRONMENT PLEEEEEASE!!!!
