Easy walk with beautiful views and a small waterfall at the end before you get to a bridge.

If you want a more jungle like hike or really a hike at all, I wouldn’t suggest this trail. It’s completely flat with not much to look at. The stone dam was closed which is what we wanted to see.

Appreciate the privilege to hike this private working farm. We took a chance that the steady heavy rain and winds that finally broke would hold off and this trail would be safe and a nice escape. It did not disappoint. Great muddy hike through Cook Pines, Mahogany, other crops and horses. Yes the trail was muddy with standing water at times but that just made it more adventurous. While some note that you don’t have to sign the waiver, respect the owners and do it. Just go to where the mini golf is and they’ll handle it there. Enjoy.

Amazing views. Ankle deep in mud at some points but worth it if you put some boots on! Relatively easy/short. Very peaceful as not too many people on the trail (parking lot only holds 4 ish cars)

Really pretty though muddy hike with beautiful views and a waterfall near the end. We hiked beyond the bridge where this trail officially ends onto another trail. The last 2 mile section of the add-on hike was not very scenic and leads to a parking area. However, we decided to take the road back to the beginning of the original trail instead of doing an out and back, making for a 11 mile hike that ended up including a walk through the sacred forest of the hindu temple. If you are wanting to hike just trail, I recommend turning around at the bridge.

This is an easier trail but muddy. It’s a different environment from the other trails. Some horses on the trail. Recommend for a nice long stroll.

I hiked this with my brother on 01/07/2020. It was a relatively sunny day but the trail was a <Font=Monster truck announcer voice> GIANT MUD PIT!! I had hiked the other side (Kuilau Ridge Trail) on 01/04/2020 on a day when it was pouring down rain. That hike is rated a moderate and I unfortunately didn’t record it. But I would say Kuilau Ridge in the rain was easier than Moalepe in the sun (after some rainy days). So unless you go when there hasn’t been rain for a few days, I wouldn’t rate it as an easy. Or maybe it was just more enjoyable because of the views along the way. The first half of the Moalepe is a dirt trail between thick overgrowth with few views and not much scenery. The second half opens up to some nice views on a sunny day. We reached the bridge and saw the rather small and slow stream with a little waterfall that was difficult to get a view. The waterfall was not too impressive in my opinion. We continued past the bridge to the picnic area. This is part of the Kuilau Ridge Trail, and by far, the most muddy section of either trail. But the views were absolutely awe-inspiring and well worth the extra 1/2mile from the end of the Moalepe. IMPORTANT- don’t stop at the bridge even though the trail is muddy it is worth it to get to the views near the picnic tables!

This trail took us three hours to hike. It was shaded in parts with lots of amazing views! It was a perfect hike except VERY MUDDY the whole time, which means some parts required a bit of caution not to slip. None the less, I would still recommend going anyways!

Great hike. We went with two kids after the rain storm. It was really muddy but so worth it. Once you get to the picnic tables you can go right to a waterfall. If you want to go straight after the picnic tables you will go thru some bamboo to a ridge. The ridge is really slippery. To see the ridge is alot shorter distance.

We hiked this on 01/05. It is moderately muddy compared to other trails in the area. The first half of the trail is better than the last half. The view from the ridge was worth every bit of it. It’s definitely family friendly. Overall, I would consider this on the easy end of moderate in terms of difficulty and it’s great bang of your buck.

This was a great trail. Fairly easy when we went as it was dry and pretty matted down. It started raining when we got to the picnic tables and definitely changed the way back down. It was clearly more muddy and slippery. Definitely recommend going all the way to the bridge. We didn't go past that, but the extra views are worth it.

Super easy! If driving uphill parking is on the right and the gate is too the left. There is one small waterfall in one of the views. It is so pretty and lots of beautiful trees and mountains to see.

Nice walk through and a long a forest. Totally flat and not terribly interesting, but good with small kids. We encountered 7 friendly horses along the way. The Stone Dam is still closed, which is usually the most interesting part of this hike.

First hike of our 2 week stay in Kauai, and it did not disappoint. Definitely a beginner hike, kid friendly with optional difficulty routes.

Hiked 12/21 - Absolute mud pit from all the recent rain. Hiking boots are a must and bring some wet wipes/clean shoes to change into when you are done. If you don’t mind getting dirty, it’s a great, easy trail with lovely views and lush vegetation.

This was such an easy going and fun hike. It truly feels like you’re in the middle of a jungle. We only went as far as the top of the ridge, since other reviews mentioned not seeing much past there. Highly recommend!

its ok, but really muddy. nice vegetation. the bridge is really the end of the trail. we went about .25 miles further. but not interested in going all the way down (another 1.5 miles). do use the small short trails at the picnic tables for a nice valley view. recording is only of the way back. also there's more parking just past the trailhead at the bridge. go to the bridge/ stream to wash down after the hike.
