Gemütlicher Spaziergang entlang der Küstenstraße. Keine Herausforderung.

Highlight of Hyrda during my stay. Well marked trail with incredible views. I ran it in a clockwise direction. Bring lots of water as the trails gets extremely hot as the day progresses.

Of course you have to do this trail at least once because of all the history behind it but it’s not at the top of my hikes in Greece. There’s way too many people at this site which makes it cramped and there’s barely any parking. Plus driving in Athens is nuts .

Great views of Greece. Started as a neighborhood walk and we ended on top

The road there went past many regular roads and houses, which is a shame as I personally prefer secluded nature walks. However, the Nikolas Memorial Square is a breathtaking place where you can rest and have an amazing view. Currently sitting there and feeling like I’m on top of the world!

Trial/walk was pretty good. There are a number of stairs which get a little crowded. Recommend you go early in the day. It opens at 8am in the summer. Little shade on top. Well worth the effort!

Right in the middle of Athens Greece city. Beautiful views of whole city including Parthenon, Olympian Zeus temple and many other historical sites views.

Great challenging hike. At the peak were many mountain goats. At the top you have to be careful not to lose the trail. There are blue squares on rocks marking it but they can be a bit hard to follow. Take plenty of water. There is non available once you are in the mountains .

Most of the 12 miles is paved road, an active narrow road with blind curves, 4 of the twelve miles up to the peak and back to the road were beautiful.

Great trail but difficult and you need to have hiking shoes as the terrain gets tough and very rocky. You’ll be in the sun quite a bit and also need plenty of water. We didn’t see any goats but the views were breathtaking.

good trail quality, very little shade at the top, but trees on the way up.

The first half of this trail is lovely. Good climb but not too hard. Where it goes awry is the middle of the suggested route. After the ascent to the delapadated windmill below the monastery, the trail provided sends you on a route that - save the St. Nikolas monastery view - takes you to the island’s dump and then down a switchback dirt road that gets to sea level just behind the town dirt pile. You would be much better served by taking the left at the windmill and down the foot path that takes you to the low rode along the water that goes to Mandraki. It’s shorter, but it avoids the dump and the sheep/donkey farm out to the north eastern slope past Mandraki.

Really well signed with a good trail. It did take us much longer than we expected since the path goes up and down quite a lot. At the summit of Eros, the map shows that there is a path down the mountain on the other side but we could not find this so we had to back track.
