Von Abschnitten des Elwetritschenpfads zweigen die schmalen Pfade zum imposanten Rabenfels, dem unheilvollen Galgenfels und dem Bubenfels ab. Bei trockenem Wetter gut begehbar.

Lovely hike in Germany’s newest National Park, very well marked with purple trail markers (perhaps the best marked German trail ever!). We clocked our distance closer to 10K. Started the hike around 1100 ended by 1315. Especially love the fantastic beverages at the Hirsch-Tränke! (bring 1.5 euro for each beer!!) Will definitely be returning in the Summer-Fall!

Sehr urig, moosbewachsener abwechslungsreicher Weg.

great trail with several place to park to access. one part follows a creek for about 2km, very nice. two place to stop and nosh over a beverage or meal enroute.

Einfach toll!

Guter Radweg. Der Abstecher zum Kloster Eberbach ist lohnend.

Für mich die schönste Tour im Pfälzerwald

Very nice trail with wonderful views of the boats and castles on the Rhine. Hike one way then take a boat back. It makes for a great day, especially as you visit the small river towns.

This trail is for marksburg castle.

Really fun, easy trail with lots of things to see and great views. There are benches and resting areas throughout the trail. There was a fence blocking the trail, however we went around it like the locals and there was no issue, just a few fallen trees to step over. Free Parking. Dog Friendly.

Excellent trail with a good mix of hills and fields. In late summer, one can even find grapes in the grape fields and it's a wonderful sight. the view from the heights is absolutely fantastic.

Overall a great trail, just know that the trail is still closed at about the 6 mile point, forcing you to turn around and making it and out-and-back, vs a round trip. I saw something about this on a German site, but since no other reviews mentioned it I assumed it had been fixed in the two years since it was washed out in 2016. It's still a worthwhile hike and you'll still have access to both castles. I saw evidence of people going around the "trail closed" sign, but I didn't feel comfortable trying that since I was hiking alone and don't really speak German. Also, it took me a minute to figure out that none of the signs say "Baumgeister". It's clearly labelled, but it's called the "Rundtour" or Round Tour. If you follow the signs for Burg Rheinstein you'll be on the right track. These are probably things known to all locals, I just wanted to let fellow foreigners know. For the trail itself, 90% of it was fairly easy. It's mostly level and well-maintained trails. There's a little bit of climbing down-to and up-from the castle(s), but it's nothing too daunting.

Really a great trail. Almost completely shaded for the entire hike. There are plenty of intersections and although the trail is well marked I would recommend downloading the map prior to making the whole loop. The castle is worth the small fee (5.50) to visit. Also some neat small waterfalls along the creek back up after the castle not mentioned above.
