We went slightly off piste but lovely walk with a dog. A bit muddy but it is winter so something to expect.

Very muddy! but overall great route! Only down side for me for some reason this app drains my battery, had to stop when my phone got to 5%, luckily I was also using Strava on my Samsung galaxy watch active to track the hike.

It's nearly 10 miles walking but recommended.

Nice walk, though very muddy (January). Don’t underestimate the slopes. The part of the walk after the clapper bridge is quite a steep uphill climb. Also, if you have a dog that likes exploring, be aware that there is a lot of poorly maintained barbed wire fencing defining the path line. Left our dog on a lead for much of the walk because of this.

Lovely walk, the part through Bowood itself was obviously much more picturesque than the other half but still a pleasant walk all round. Mostly flat and it had a variety of terrain that kept small people interested!

Great walk. Lovely views and a beautiful area to explore. Quite muddy in places given all the rain we’ve had! Yes it does have a length on the road but it wasn’t busy and does a nice view :)

So beautiful! Picture perfect Castle Combe!

Date of walk: 23rd November 19 Great walk. Apart one section as you come into West Kennet. Stick to the walking footpath rather than the trail as it leads to locked gates. One section where the river/stream had burst its Bank. Its was no problem for us to get through, you just have to commit to ankle deep water for a couple of seconds

Great easy walk especially in late afternoon/evening when the light hits everything just right! definitely wear shoes/boots you don't mind getting muddy as the trail is very muddy in some areas!

Lovely walk. Definitely need wellies at this time of year

A lovely walk today, very peaceful, only the birds to listen to and barely a sole on the paths. We managed to see several deer despite having a bouncy puppy in tow. I’d highly recommend walking boots or wellies if you go after it has been raining. I couldn’t see much parking though we were lucky to get a spot and someone else was waiting for our spot as we were leaving.

a few wet parts at this time of year. make sure you've got your wellies. lovely walk.

Nice route, we did it back a while ago.

Lovely walk! Lived in the area for years and never knew Malmesbury was so nice.

Really, really lovely walk! perfect for taking the dog too! very pretty town to explore.

Tabbed and ran round in roughly an hour, good underfoot and easy to navigate.

Pleasant walking, lots of opportunity for variation, necessary in order to avoid extensive recent logging.

Done this walk on with a hangover so was a little rough when we first started. However, when I saw the cow and sheep, that woke me up

A beautiful walk through woodland and alongside/over streams. Walk ends in the village of Castle Combe.

unlike ifootpath there are no written instructions so easy to go off trail. also with the map you need to keep focusing in on your location. the walk itself was lovely but a little busy around the lake area. also to much road walking. the best part of this walk would be the woodland section.

Good dog walk if your dog is not very good with other dogs. Didn't see another person.
