We did this trail in reverse, finishing off at Ros Castle, rather difficult as Gps can falter in the woods. Trail is rather difficult to pick up as you climb through the woods, and quite steep clambering up to the gated access to the moors. However, we had a glorious day 18/01/20 and had a fabulous view from the top of Ros Castle.

Very easy flat path around a lake. We went on to a beach walk afterwards - plenty paths up to the beach from this route.

I started at Plessey Woods car park, it’s around half a mile to starting point. Trail is easy up until Blagdon Estate where it was muddy and slippy underfoot, pleasant walk though, and very mild for early January.

Loved this walk... did in early January, the weather threw a little bit of everything at us, but totally invigorating

Didn’t end the route correctly and recorded our drive to Barter Books afterward, whoops! Great route thought, went late in the day so the last hour was through the dark spooky woods

Really loved this trail. The day was perfect weather to walk from craster fishing village to the castle and then into the sweeping beaches up to low Newton. I’d recommend a pit stop for some lunch half way at the ship inn pub. The trail was beautiful all the way along and is prefect for dogs. I’d highly recommend this trail

Great trail - some steep sections, however, the paths are very well maintained. Our dog loved the climb and racing through the heather at the top of the crags. Beautiful views from the top.

Great trail following the red route signs the way round we went ascended simonside first which was the steepest part but easy to do as path was laid out throughout the route would recommend and the dog also loved it!

Done this walk several times with my three dogs. We all managed it well although there are some rocky parts which are a little challenging but only for a short period and when you get to the top it’s all worth it!

The trail was well kept and clean, with clean toilet facilities and plenty of benches for picnics. Dog and child friendly and would probably be really nice when in the summer with the little pebble beach. I would say it probably shouldn't be classed as an easy walk now though. We chose it as we were walking with my elderly grandparents whom struggle after knee operations to get up/down slopes and steps. But the flatter part of the walk is now blocked off due to a landslide risk so we had to climb quite a steep slope and large amount of steps to get to the next pathway; but we only found this out as we arrived at that point. Then the bridge around half way through the walk to get to the flatter point was collapsed so we had to turn back the way we came. I would usually rate it a 5star but I think it shouldn't be rated as easy. It is also a pay/park car park but if often full or change so cannot give out tickets so I'd recommend taking a pen/paper to write a note in case it isn't working. But it will still print out a ticket with your national trust card.

Great views, we ended up doing a shorter route but definitely will be returning to do the longer, full route. Was good with the alternative route options! Really enjoyed it

Beautiful waterfalls along a fairly easy walk. Lots to see along the river. Beautiful woodland. The dogs loved it too!
