Lovely and varied walk. We especially enjoyed the canal section. Only negative is the long section between the railway line and the playing field which feels very hemmed in.

The walk was superb, with a great pub included. But I wanted to especially comment on the walk directions an narrative- second to none.

Simple walk around the reservoir, but still nice. Does cost £4.50 to park though, so would recommend finding somewhere outside of the reservoir and then walking in.

Varied trail across fields, through woods, and along lanes. A few short sharp hills and some nice views. The end isn't ideal - it is on a twisty road with blind corners, but other than that it's great.

lovely route. can get a bit samey near Cheshunt

Good easy walk for just over an hour. let's you work up an appetite for the pub! No real views during, but very pleasant nonetheless

Lovely walk. Instructions clear and easy to follow. Some steeper parts. Nice lunch at the Tring museum cafe

Really nice walk. Lovely views, very easy to follow. No steep climbs or stiles to negotiate, just a few well behaved horses.

The first 6 miles are crazy, the path is next to the highway, car’s noise and the path is narrow and there are tall nettles, I recommend long trousers. The trail became better and better when you are approaching the natural park.

We’ve done this trail before and loved it so returned with friends. Gorgeous start to the walk however once you leave the quarry area and cross Ray Brook the footpath is so overgrown it’s almost impossible to walk through. We also had to walk the road around the next section as the field was so overgrown with stinging nettles there was no way through. Then the footpath along the Vets college was closed! Fantastic start but awful second half. I’m sure at another time of year when weeds aren’t growing it will be a great walk again.

good easy trail. car park was free, machine broken. No wooden bridge, only metal one.

very nice walk with grate view of the lakes and canal.

Great route for famies with plenty of grazing animals. Two things though, one there's no space like a bench or table to sit down for a picnic along the route. The other is that there's literally no access to River Chess which was a disappointment. Other than these very pleasant

alot of this trail is over grown and it's also very smelly due to being amongst farms. there were so many flies as well

amazing trail, lots of.horses to meet and greet along the way

A nice walk with excellent instructions

Very nice except for the verge jumping for the last 500m But the rest of it was amazing - hence 4 stars

Amazing loop trail across the countryside not far from London. Good length.

Nice walk and mostly clear instructions, however in late May there was no clear path across the crop field to Crossways farm, so we had to improvise our way to the road. We went on a weekday afternoon with dogs and the road back to the pub got very busy. Otherwise an enjoyable walk.

Stunning trail - totally privileged to have seen swans and geese showing of their brood of signets and goslings - the wild flowers and trees along side the canal and lakes just breathtaking. Nice easy trail that can be enjoyed by young and old alike - beautiful!

Lovely walk, excellent directions and fabulous food in the Alford Arms. Really enjoyed ourselves despite intermittent showers.

Took a party of 21 people on this walk on Monday 15th March 2019 .Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the walk - with good views , different scenery, as described relatively flat and it was not very muddy - which is good for March. Very easy to follow instructions. We had lunch at The Crown & Sceptre, looked after us very well. Whilst the majority were ok regarding their food a couple of people felt that the food was not very good. The Old Chequers is still closed - though there was some work being carried out inside.
