Was nice along the river but was muddy at points. Also was along the main road for parts.

Nice easy walk around pathways. Just enough to feel you've been for a nice walk in the woods.

This was a great walk with our puppy - we were initially scouting this as a running route but probably wouldn’t be ideal until the summer as it was very muddy and boggy. You need to use the map as we lost the trail a few times but managed to get back on track fairly easily. Would do it again but take snacks next time.

Very muddy in parts but very enjoyable walk. Make sure shoes/ boots are waterproof

Very popular area for walking so if you prefer quieter walks this is not for you. Walked through some forest areas but a great deal was gravelled walkways. Route directions are bot the best, you could easily get lost, do make sure your GPS can get a signal.

Nice walk with some lovely scenic views. Route directions a bit wishy washy at times eg Waypoint 1 - after 800 metres turn right, the first 200 yards the tree line is on your left then as detailed. Waypoint 3 - you will come to a 3 way junction go straight on, we went right and walked parallel to the mapped route. Very muddy, in fact a quagmire during the middle 3rd of Waypoint 1 although this is to be expected as it is mid winter and has rained overnight. Walk is Mainly through woods, fields and tracks with some tarmac roads in places.

Did this trail after the wettest winter we’ve had in a while. A week of dry weather allowed the trail to mostly dry out, a few large puddles here and there to navigate but what mud there was was very thin and not at all difficult to walk through. One recommendation is after coming to the top of Malshanger Park, at the end of the Yew hedge, the trail and footpath go left straight across a field. When I went in winter it had just been ploughed and seeded and the path itself was not visible - so instead follow the track you were on slightly further up and there is a smaller trail on the left that takes you down and around the field.

The walk was stunning, with lovely pubs and cottages. The only issue was a private road you couldn't walk down, but there was a way around by walking down a road. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely walk for a New Year's day. Beautiful waterways along the trail

Very pleasant walk. Nothing dramatic but lovely scenery. Paths all fine apart from the two fields near the end where the pathways have been ploughed over. We walked round the first and across the second and then picked up the trail near the farm buildings.

Way too muddy to enjoy the walk and scenery. Pretty poor for winters. Q exposed to wind so can be v unpleasant in windy conditions.

Walk around the outskirts of Windmill Hill starting at The Ridgeway road picking up the public footpath. Time isn’t a true representation as the dog had plenty of places to sniff. Dog bins along route easy to follow and plenty of views.

This is a great trail. It has flat ground, lots to see and not too muddy! We walked it in an hour and stopped at the pub afterwards for a few beers and the yummiest food I've had in a long long time! Would definitely recommend!

Easy to follow and interesting. Not very muddy either, which was surprising considering the rain we have had and the state of the ground elsewhere.
