Nice flat walk...extended it down to Lyme wharf and got back onto the middlewood way further down....came back via bollinhurst brook which made a good loop back to the car. I parked at the playing field car park near the school

Lovely walk. As I decided to do this walk in mid January it was expected it would be wet, mud can reach up to ankles so be prepared. Can be little challenging for casual hikers.

Theres quite a bit of construction work going on during the winter months so a couple of the bridges on this route are currently out of action. Plenty of other trails to explore in this really well managed woodland.

Easy, flat walk around the Lake. Paths all the way round, good for just getting some fresh air!

This is a great family and dog walk, the Fairy Glen is very picturesque with 2 little waterfalls, the pathing is well maintained, however, you will pass through muddy areas, especially the farmers field, but unsurprisingly so due to the rainfall this winter.

Brilliant walk. It’s got everything; canal side walking (lots of boats moored up), some woodland (muddy) parts, and great views on a clear day. The car park will cost you £2 for up to three hours, although we had to wait for a spot (it can get busy). There are toilets at the visitor center (no charge) and there’s a refreshments (coffee) shop in Lyme Park on route (just over half way round), a welcomed treat, and perfect for a take-away coffee to accompany the last 20 minute walk back to the car park. We’ll be going back to this one. Well recommended.

Highly recommend this short walk which has a little bit of everything packed in! The photos attached should paint the picture for a very well deserved 5 star walk in my book!

Really lovely walk with great views as you walk around. We went off the path and did a longer route, definitely worth it if you fancy something a bit longer. Plenty parking and it is great for dog walkers.

Went today (December) was very wet muddy and the field you have to cross is completely flooded although you dont no this till your ankle deep, good trail but if going with kids dress for occasion and take spare clothes, some steps are steep for little ones and sloppy so be aware of weather before you go

This is a great walk in all weather , it’s quite flat until you climb then boots are needed to protect the ankles . Stunning views at the top and watch out for the pheasants hiding in the bushes .

Great trail. The only frustration was one of the gates as there was no way through for my dog, apart from having to chuck him over!

An easy walk on level ground. The trail is used frequently by dog walkers.

This is strictly a review of the exact route we walked. The area looks to have better walking routes than this... Starts off OK, then you cross a really busy major road and walk past some suburban housing and more roads. When you get to the trail it gets more pleasant until you realise you can still hear fluctuating levels of road noise, which then crescendos into the loudest bit of roadside walking I’ve ever done (with a bonus of breathing in petrol fumes) which ended in two headaches. Redeemed in part thanks to a good lunch but I was hoping for a relaxing weekend walk and ended up thinking that I find being in central Manchester at work more relaxing. In short, drive off somewhere else and go for a walk then come back here for the excellent food.
