abit muddy in places. lots of trails to follow.very nice walk. great for mountain bikes

Really enjoyed this walk, paths are clear and easy to follow and there was only one section passing the reservoir where it was really muddy. Good for dogs but signs up that they'll need to be on leads throughout summer for bird nesting season.

it's okay, but usually too busy, I prefer a more remote walk

Brilliant walk. It’s got everything; canal side walking (lots of boats moored up), some woodland (muddy) parts, and great views on a clear day. The car park will cost you £2 for up to three hours, although we had to wait for a spot (it can get busy). There are toilets at the visitor center (no charge) and there’s a refreshments (coffee) shop in Lyme Park on route (just over half way round), a welcomed treat, and perfect for a take-away coffee to accompany the last 20 minute walk back to the car park. We’ll be going back to this one. Well recommended.

This trail is an excellent one for cycling.

Great trail. The only frustration was one of the gates as there was no way through for my dog, apart from having to chuck him over!

Excellent walk along a variety of trails including roads, forest tracks and paths across fields. Great views on a clear day and a lovely stroll back through Lyme park. slight detour needed due to a closed footpath (see recording). If it hadn't been for my boot sole coming off half way, would have been perfect!

An easy walk on level ground. The trail is used frequently by dog walkers.

Definitely took a couple of wrong turns, however there are plenty of places to get back on track. It was a rainy day so very muddy on the non path parts of the trail. I think it would be much better on a sunny day. Quite a steep part at the beginning so definitely get your walking boots on.

Not a bad hike this, starting at the car park we went clockwise but with the heavy rains struggled to follow the river at the end of the 3 reservoirs so we went off trail and cut up a really steep slope instead and caught up with the trail at the top at the highest point which in itself was very exciting and a hard scramble in the rain but very fun. Once on the top was relatively easy all the way round, some interesting bits crossing streams becuse of the rain, waterproofs and watwrproof socks were a godsend. Still on the look out for a harder treck though to challenge us.

beautiful! very easy to do with a baby carrier.

Great group walk today. 9 miles, good distance for us. Steady incline to start with lots of bikes speeding by! We extended the route I found up to the chew reservoir for a peek. The route is pretty clear which was great as the views are amazing and you just want to look out not at the maps. Fabulous lunch spot looking out onto reservoir and perfectly sheltered from wind. Second half is tricky is there are some steep drops and rock faces. Then it’s a tricky cross over a stream. Then please be aware the last part of the hilly bit it a scramble, bolder crawler down the stream followed by another stream crossing. Not for the faint hearted! Loved the challenge but you need good boots and take sticks!!!

great circular route. There is a free carpark 2 bridges down on the middlewood way, about 300m from the suggested start point.

Good for practicing skills and as a local it’s good to use on a regular basis. Wouldn’t suggest travelling from afar to visit as there’s no facilities and is only a very short loop. The north loop has some decent jumps and the south has fast flowing berms both accessed by a short climb up a tarmac path. Recently found the trails to be neglected (summer 2019) and there’s not been much maintenance. Lots of boggy/ mud patches on landings which makes jumps less attractive. Lots of brambles and overgrowth throughout the park (especially the series of blue trails further south in the park), making a lot of trails impassible. There is a car park which is free of charge so you can drive and park up next to the starting point Overall the trails need some attention to bring them back to their former glory!

Enjoyed this trail very much, a little harder than I’d anticipated but worth it! Overgrown in some places so be extra careful. Very beautiful scenic walk, the only downside of the trail is after you get through marsden the markers seem to have faded considerably and due to the forest route near the golf course more markers are certainly needed. Overall I’d definitely recommend and I will certainly be returning.

Really nice walk

I love walking this trail! Its where I go when I need to escape the chaos and it isn’t too hard either

Lovely walk through a well managed woods. Lightly trafficked and great for dogs. The main path follows a gentle stream, which is great if dogs need to cool off.
