Really fun walk, very muddy but in the right footwear you are fine, up and down with elevation and lovely views to be seen on a nice crisp day!

Long part of walk is next to an industrial sight, not great views.

It was good but very muddy with deep puddles in parts. Was lovely to walk round the gardens. Would definitely do again in the summer.

Beautiful walk, dog friendly. I’d recommend going early as can get busy.

A good route that kicks off with a steep climb to the top of Shining Tor. Wrap up warm if it’s windy!

The route is hard to follow as it snakes through the college grounds. Not much of a walk if you're travelling any distance. Wouldn't recommend for dog walks

Good 2 hour walk, quite flat, nice woodland. Wander through Marbury Country Park and Budworth Mere for a bit extra and wildlife

This was a good urban walk through my hometown. The section through the Grosvenor park seemed a bit convoluted in winter when everything is cut back but in summer I can imagine the meandering route would be nice through the flowers. I’m a bit surprised the route doesn’t take you through the Roman Gardens that runs parallel to Souters Lane - well worth the diversion for very little extension onto the trip. If you are on your own, the section along River Lane is a little isolated. An alternative to this is to cut across The field to Westminister Green and through Brown Lane to the cemetery. The section along the canal around the walls at northgate is fascinating archaeology and geology but the path is narrow next to the canal and some may find that combined with the steep walls a bit claustrophobic. If you at all anxious about this I would recommend sticking to the walls higher up all the way around to the cathedral and then exiting out onto Frodsham Street and turn left to rejoin the canal there. Again, this adds very little extra to the route and has its own interesting things to find. Firm under foot, no mud to worry about.

Nice fairly easy trail, really nice to see the marina and all the lovely canal boats

Good path for views, will have to get kids to bed on time as they have to have a spare night

walked with a 7 and 8 year old, started gently downhill towards reservoirs then up through Macc Forest. we took a slightly different route here and dropped down to a single track road - was very steep and quite challenging for the children and us at times but the views made up for that. All in all a lovely 7 mile hike.

I took my 10 year old about this walk. It was fairly easy for the most part with a couple of nice views. However the fields were extremely waterlogged and we had a battle to get across them. I think in wetter weather it would be a lot easier to walk up Common Lane/Road instead of taking the footpath across the fields. Also, there were animals in one of the fields, so take car if you’re bringing a dog.

Enjoyed this walk, 0ver 100 steps after leaving the picnic area near the carpark so take a drink, as we didn't! lovely walk through woodland, and heather moors to get to the top. Easily tackled with a 6 years old.
