Great walk with some slightly challenging climbs. Very boggy in January!! The dog loved it though...

Nice morning walk. Extremely muddy but easy route to follow. The hill down from the monument at coombe hill was slightly dangerous due to conditions, so had to zig zag down off the route. Phone battery died but completed the whole trail.

Lovely walk. Mostly flat but muddy in the winter. Note the map and text for waypoint 3 are not the same route! Either option will however get you onto the canal again.

Great walk, mostly off lead with the dog but will have to put on lead through some parts!

Lovely, varied easy walk - one of my favourites. Can be very boggy in places after heavy rain, so I was glad I was wearing my completely waterproof boots. Easy to go wrong in the woods...

Great walk on a beautiful day. Muddy along parts of the route, ankle deep in places, which made it tough going. We did divert off the main route a couple of times but easily got back on track. There are a number of climbs and descents which were challenging in the mud but overall a very enjoyable afternoon walk with lovely views along the way.

good walk, very muddy, beautiful views

love the views from here

It’s an interesting and vista-filled stroll, but for us the road noise did spoil what would have otherwise been stunning. Perhaps in the summer, with more leaf cover, it will be a bit quieter. We‘ll try again then...

Well signposted walk. It was lovely in December

Great walk that will take you around 2 hours. Very muddy in large sections so would suggest you do this in the Spring or Summer. Mainly flat so not hard. Nice place to take a walk with your dog and family. Best place to park is Tesco as free for 3 hours.

Nice route, though very muddy and slippery towards the beginning (November hike). Easy to navigate and the coffee shop in Downley is a great place to finish if you adapt your start/finish point.

Definitely an easy trail across fields - slight incline in parts which give great views. Most parts across fields so be aware very muddy when been raining.

Really easy route, perfect for family outing with beautiful sites in every weather. I found plenty of mushrooms along the track. Denham is probably the nicest little village I've ever seen and Green Man Pub is really something you wouldn't want to miss, with delicious Sunday roast, great selection of draught beers, moderate prices and excellent service.

good route, nice mix of terrain - open fields and woodlands, and lovely scenery. GPS is useful as there are lots of conflicting paths in places but not difficult to follow and definitely worth it. For starting point click 'directions' takes you to 'unnamed road' HP169PS where there is a small parking space off road on right and various trail points lead from there.

It’s a good walk, somewhat difficult for the non experienced. Avoid the Chequers Estate, Don’t veer off the various optional pathways to find a quicker route. Don’t walk through open gates in fields and miss signage ‘Under section 128 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005(3) it is an offence to enter or be on any protected site.’ Oh and don’t take a rest stop near to the Chequers Estate, on a grass verge beside the road. You may be stopped and repeatedly questioned by police, asking you why you have been caught on the surveillance cameras. Great walk, I would advise not to walk alone, remain on the path and do not walk through open gates.

Lovely route which took in paths we’d never followed before, despite years of walking in The Chilterns. Felt very quiet and isolated in parts, which was great. Starting point / car parking is a little off the beaten track - post code would have been helpful - but basically put Little Hampden in the GPS then when it tells you you’ve arrived continue a short way up the hill to the parking space. Had one or two issues with the accuracy of the red route indicator, particularly close to the end, where it seemed to go completely off piste - possibly due to a newly ploughed field and no obvious path. This was solved by picking up the waymarked South Bucks Way, following it to the aforementioned road, then turning left up the hill back to the car park. Distance is more like 12.25km.

Lovely hike easy to follow with nice variety of country sights and some great views and wildlife.
