Great day for a hike. Trail was icy below the snow. Typical as per local weather lately. Easy trail in terms of elevation. Recommend snow shoes or a good pair of boots and the trusty ol’ balance.

I love this trail I am only ten but me and my family enjoy it tuns , it’s great for a walk or bike ride but if you chose biking I would suggest using a bike with thin handle bars as it makes riding the of rode part much easier also it ends in ice cream good really good ice cream

What a great place to stop, stretch your legs while on way to city. Maple festival in spring

Beautiful trail. Shorter but not too crowded, great for the dog. We have seen turtles, deer, and an owl which landed in front of us.

Nice simple hike. Took my 2.5 yo and he was able to walk the majority of it without having to be carried or pulled.

Great winter hike. If you park in Lot 2 you’ll go through some flooded areas along the trail. You can get closer in the winter to the trail head than lot 2. We figured that out after the hike. We went clockwise and tried the “Horse Lake Trail” back to the car. It seems it goes along the water shore and the water was way high. So we sort of blazed our own trail until we got away from the water a bit. Very very ice on the rocks around the Grotto. Take extra care and wear well traction shoes/ boots.

Great trail with a nice view of the escarpment. Was pretty icy when we went (early January) but the Crawford lake boardwalk was nice and clear. It is very well-maintained so was worth the $7 entry fee

Would recommend doing this trail in fall or winter unless have a breeze in summer as most of trail is swamp and bugs would be horrible. That being said the wind was so bad today on way back it was hard to stay on trail. Small bridges along way were neat and appreciated

I have done this trail a few times now and I always enjoy it. We always see lots of people. Also lots of dog walkers on the trail (myself included), half if not most of those dog walkers let their dogs off leash, just a heads up. I was not super impressed with the view on the Lookout. The actual platform itself is nice, however the view was meh to me. The end of the trail is always worth it to me tho. The first time we did the trail there was an owl right in the trees beside the trail. We could see it clear as day! Super cool!

There are beautiful sections of frozen ice with open pockets of flowing water. There's not a lot of snow so the trail is easily hiked. I only did the loop up to the first bridge.

Some areas of ice near the ponds and one hiker-made 0.5 bridge to cross a small stream. Very beautiful weekday hike for the dog and I!

I've done this trail several times, it's a good cardio workout to say the least. A friend took me in 3 times before I went in by myself. It is not well marked with a few side trails. When I asked my buddy where one of these side trail would take me, he just said "lost". Please bring a GPS, you will get phone reception on most of the trail and a backpack just in case. Lots of wildlife and views

Started the trail via the Metcalfe Side Trail (which is a nice scramble) bc parking is limited to 1 maybe 2 cars. There was limited signage that we didn’t notice until too late that the majority of this trail is exclusive to XCountry skiing - no snowshoeing/walking/dogs when there is snow on the ground. Otherwise a pretty, gentle forest walk with nice views.

Trail is in excellent condition and is heavily used by the dogwalkers up to the 2nd lookout. Plenty of lovely tree ornaments to gaze at. There was plenty of waterfowl where the creek starts. Nice trail though the noise from the highway can be distracting.

Good trail views better at the northern end Email kolb parkway did the whole trail but that’s my favourite Portion. Great trail highly recommended

Still doable but very muddy in early Jan. Beautiful waterfall.

There are parts of this trail that are really pretty but parts that run across a fairly significant area that is essentially forested to the point it’s a sad open unappealing view. That said, there are virtually no people on it and there is really no elevation making it an easy hike. I don’t think the outdoor skating trails exist anymore as I have holes it at least ten times over 3 years and never experienced this ice skating trail.

Found my new favourite spot to do some winter hiking and snowshoeing! Beauty place with lots of trails to choose from. Can't wait to go back and explore more with my dog (happy to find that almost all other dogs we encountered were also on leash). Bit icy in spots, but well worth the visit. Loved the hills and trees!
