nice trail with varied terrain - maybe I got lost but the loop was closer to 5 km according to my phone!

Surrounding vegetation was lush and colourful - the ecosystem was my favourite part of this hikee. No lookouts but a nice hike that arrives at the bay, with a nice view across and down the shoreline.

Awesome small trail. The in and out to the point was great. Spent a good 45 mins out there, exploring the coast and cliffs.

Great hike for a windy day. Protected until you get to the headland. Once there its wide open and beautiful. Sept. 25, 2019

Started at Margaret Bowater Park and looped back around via Ginger route. Took approx 1.5 hours. Beautiful trail, would definitely go again.

Spektakuläre Blicke. Viele Höhenmeter, die man nicht unterschätzen sollte. Da es in der Nacht vorher geregnet hatte, war die Querung des Spoutriver nicht ganz einfach.

The beach has a beautiful view of the ocean with a little fresh water pond on the other side. It's a great family friendly trail.

Nice, straightforward trail with a beautiful mid-point (the water). The first 2.5km towards the water is entirely downhill on a slight incline. I would have preferred more of a challenge, so I would recommend this trail for those looking for an relatively leisurely, quick hike. The second 2.5km is uphill, but even then the incline isn’t so much that it’s a challenge. Hiking boots a must as most of the trail is a mix of rocks and boulders.

Awesome. Do it.

Easy walk to some spectacular views

Going clockwise, the 1st half of the trail to the point was great. There are some amazing views to be had from the cliffs. The 2nd half following Sam Hurley’s Rd was less inspiring. If I were to hike this trail again, I would turn around at the point and go back the same way. That being said, I still enjoyed the hike, except for the fog. It would have been so much better on a clear day.

easy walk through a forest with moss hanging from branches, feels like you are entering a magical forest. Once you get to the beach scrambling on the rocks jutting out to the sea at sunset was an amazing treat.

I came across this trail by seeing a sign post and small parking lot on the road. I’m SO glad I stopped and took an impromptu trek! It’s a relatively easy hike, though there are a few inclines that may be difficult for some. I was alone on the trail and loved every corner I turned. The panoramic view at the summit is SPECTACULAR! Afterwards I learned that the lookout is said to be where Captain James Cook surveyed the area in 1763. You will not be disappointed; do it!! Note: the trail continues well past the wooden platform at the first lookout.

A good quick trail except for some soggy spots that need some work.

Trail conditions were great. Amazing views from the old base sight! Definitely worth the hike! Would recommend this hike to friends!

Was a good walk but the view is limited by being in the woods for a fair bit. Floods easily after rain as well. Says part is wheelchair accessible but it's a VERY short part and even getting to that in a wheelchair is questionable.

Nice walk.

terrrrrrrific

The trail starts with some stairs - this is not mentioned in the description, but should be noted for anyone with mobility issues. The climb was too long for my travelling companions, so I hiked this trail solo. There were many other hikers out that day, so the trail felt very safe. It was wet in sections. I was not wearing waterproof shoes but I luckily had a second pair of shoes in the car. Now, the view!! It was spectacular. I didn’t go all the way to the end as my travelling companions gave me a 45 minute timeline. What I did see after approx 25 minutes out was beautiful!

A great little hike! Short with great views.

This trail should be more advertised, as it is like stepping into a fairytale with historical and geological significance. I highly reccomend completing the Point of the Head trail in addition to the Lighthouse loop, as it has spectacular and highly varied geological formations.

I see there are no reviews for at this trail so I thought I’d add one. We started from Hay Cove. It was fantastic with fantastic views. Not super difficult and some great locations to sit and take in the beautiful sites. We did not go past the the Noddy Bay lookout as we chose to return vs looping back via the road. A great stop to take a lunch.

Superb trail! Be sure to take the spur down to the beach and not to just complete the loop, as the spur has the best section of Tuckamore hiking, incredible rock formations, and, of course, the beach.

This isn't a short loop but options to go much farther out. The initial map shown is just to the summit (which has a great view) but, the best views are found from exploring all the little coves as you follow the trail farther inland. Some of them are poorly marked but you can still readily find the trail. Don't be afraid to get into the coves and explore, so far this is my favorite hike to do in this part of Newfoundland. Such an underrated (maybe unknown) gem!

Nice urban trail along Corner Brook Stream. Gravelled path with views of waterfalls, swan pond, playgrounds, swimming area, and splash park. I ended at 3 mile power station. A braid of trails around the d stream to be enjoyed.

Nice little hike.
