I’d rate this a 3.5. More of a quad trail than hiking trail. Great if you need an accessible route but not challenging.

Beautiful short trail. Don’t go right after a snow storm like I did or it would rate difficult. Really nice scenery and super accessible.

I would recommend this trail to anyone who doesn’t need a maintained trail. Wet feet, happy heart!!!!

Great new trail leading to beautiful views of the Winnipeg River

Good lake, poor trail. A fine walk to a lake if thats what your looking for. No parking spot or area at the trail head for parking.

A quick easy trail, great for a morning walk. Not too much traffic. Nice views around the water.

We did this trail early June. The bog at the beginning was passable but it's better to have good hiking shoes. (I personally tried one 2 years ago but there was too much water and I did not succeed to complete the trail because my shoes were after just a few meters...) We would qualify the trail as moderate instead of easy because it's easy to loose the trail once you are on the rocks and, at the end of the hike, you need to use ropes to get down and up some cliffs to reach the lake. Still, it's a great hike with beautiful views and a really nice spot by the lake and we'll definitely do it again!

Nice, easy, short trail good for biking or walking. Cool bridge over the whiteshell river, and nice area for a picnic lunch by the sturgeon rapids.

It was easy to hike even for our 2 year old. The falls were okay and had their own kind of beauty to it.

The trail is nice. We drove our truck right to the top and walked around up there. We had 3 small children and had a camp fire lunch. It is beautiful up there

Did this trail in the winter with snowshoes and it was beautiful! Easy enough but a few ups and downs that gets your blood pumping and lovely scenery. Would definitely do again in the summer so you can go for a swim when you reach the lake.

Short, easy hike on a wide gravel path the entire way. The bridge was beautiful and for sure the highlight, but the small rock lookouts and bench were a nice place to rest while taking in the rapids.

Great trail. The rapids at the top are really nice.

Just visited Campsite A in the trail loop. Hike was not very scenic, however the lake was very clean and nice. Your typical Manitoba hike. Campsite had a outdoor portable washroom which was pretty luxurious. Firewood and downed wood debris were plenty for a fire in the firepit provided. Picnic bench was present in the site which was also nice. Perfect place for hammock/tent camping. Could make an excellent snoeshoe hiking trip or ice fishing!

Very easy trail with beautiful scenary. Paths are wide open with some small inclines /declines.

Only raiting this a one because we couldn't do it, but I wanted to write a trail condition update for those who may be attempting it. We tried this on October 18, 2018. The creek that runs along the tracks has flooded due to a beaver damn and all of the recent snow/rain. We tried going through the water barefoot, but it was extremely cold and rutted. We couldn't tell how deep and we were a afraid of rolling an ankle in a whole and falling in. As it was, the water was already halfway up our shins and ice cold. We tried three different routes as we hate "quitting hikes" but we just couldn't find a way around the water and my feet were aching from the cold. If there has been a lot of rain/snow, check the conditions before attempting this one. We ended up going to McGillvray Falls instead.

The entire perimeter of the loop is 1km so it helps you to track your distance. Beautiful park, paved path. Just a great scenic place for a walk anytime of the day in any season!

A nice, easy hike to Sturgeon Falls. Lots of different mushrooms grow here in the late summer and you can sometimes see otters playing in the water. For a longer hike, turn right after crossing the suspension bridge to go to Pine Point Rapids (8.7 km one way). Not much in terms of views as it's essentially a wide swath of access road through the forest, but you're likely to have it all to yourself. @jesiannoutdoors

One of my favourites. I don’t agree with the rating of Easy as the trail is in a state of disarray, with many fallen trees over the very overgrown, poorly marked path. Navigating the bog without getting feet wet is always a highlight, as well as scaling the short granite walls. It’s no Hunt Lake, but if you don’t have the time for that trail, don’t pass up on the Bear.

Always wanted to go here - finally did today. Drove most of the way in and hiked the final 3 kms. to the lookout point. We had a fire and a picnic while enjoying the spectacular view. It's worth the trip. (We did see a bear on the trail.) I'd go here again and park further away.

we rode bikes along the trail. our 4 yr old had to walk the steep bits but otherwise a nice riding trail

I did this trail walking was not very exciting if you were looking for a trail to bike or the jog in and out I would recommend this trail.

Took this trail from the bridge sign in the Nutimik lake campground area to Sturgeon Falls. Fairly easy trail - we had 7 kids with us including one in a backpack carrier and everyone managed the hike no problem. Lots of nice lookout points especially the bridge and the rocks by the falls.

There's a bog right near the start that got the feet a little bit wet but they were mostly dry by the trails end. There's a nice little lookout at the end with a firepit that's a great place to have a lunch and fish from. Lost the trail at the end on the way back and had to hike through the bog.

I love Legion Park. Heyes ChildCare Centre is having a bike-a-thon fundraiser at the park now, perfect trails for beginner bikers with plenty of space for celebration after the kids are done their 5km ride. Thank you Swan River for maintaining beautiful parks!

To answer Kevin Esau's comments we have uploaded a recording for the alternative route to access the trail from the east, therefore avoiding the river crossing. Please review the recording "Pike's Peak Alternative Access" and details for more info.

It was a nice scenic walk. I wouldn’t consider it a hike. I would consider this easy compared to others I have done.
