Well marked. A good workout. It was quite foggy so no views were possible. Will return

Well marked trail with light traffic during the week. The avalanche rating is low below the tree line today, so the risk is minimal. The snow is packed down, so microspikes would have been sufficient. But I snowshoed this time.

Epic day on snow shoes. Wouldn’t recommend doing it without them.

Nice day . People need to pick up after their dogs . Disappointed in the amount of dog droppings. There is bags provided at the gate yet there’s dung right at the trail head gate .

Snowshoed up to fire hut last weekend....deep snow. Trailblazing! Approx 80 blown down tree obstacles to either go over and under on the way. Trail well enough marked. Nice one nighter....cleared up for views!

Great for a quick snowshoe hike! Not too busy on a weekday morning. Lots of dogs. With some fresh snow snowshoes were perfect, but after a couple days without snowfall I could see it being packed down to where crampons would be adequate.

Great hike off the grid! Once you find the trail head the trail is easy to follow. Muddy in sections even in the summer and lots of bugs so be prepared. Beautiful views, moderate climb but we managed with a 10 and 12 year old. Beautiful mountain views and crystal clear lakes. Looking forward to going back to try set up base camp and try some summits!

Good snowshoe trail, but a lot of off leash dogs. Some of the dogs barked and ran out of nowhere. First lake is pretty cool. There are a lot of ups and downs on the trail. It was VERRY busy on a Sunday! which was pretty annoying.

Great trail as long as you’re ready for a leg burner. Hiked it it Jan 19. Used snowshoes and spikes. Near the top had to break trail through lots of snow. Snowshoes a must.

Nice short trail, but fairly busy and lots of (off leash) dogs. Lots of snow, mostly packed down. Most people had snowshoes on but spikes could work as well.

Well maintained even in winter and well marked. Snow was a few feet deep off the trail but and nice easy hike from the Fernie visitor Center.

Well marked trail. Fresh snow made it pretty challenging. No views in the clouds but the snowy trees were awesome.

Great hike! Did this on January 8th. Snow on the trail, bring your snow shoes...I did this with small spikes. Can be done in under 2 hours. Tried to got further. But the end of the trail is closed for winter conditions. I am going to do this one again.

Nice moderate climb for the first 2/3rds of the hike. Last third required microspikes, would have been fairly difficult without them. Can’t speak for the views as it was a whiteout at the top unfortunately.

Snowshoe'd up on Jan 4. Hardpacked snow and icy in some areas. Very steep on the final approach to the top. You should bring snowshoes or wear spikes. Either would be sufficient for the conditions. Saw lots of people trying to hike up in regular boots or running shoes and they were slipping and sliding all over the place. It was very foggy throughout the whole hike. No views at the top because of the fog. Overall good, short hike. I'd love to do it again on a sunny day.
