Good amount of parking and a clear/easy access to the trailheads. took the clockwise route via the Coast Trail and then headed in to the Inland Trail. Was a rainy day so the mud on the trail was excessive but to be expected. You can get around most of the muddy sections and much of the Coastal Trail is rocky - no mud there. Fantastic views of Olympic Park in Washington and the Salish Sea. the sun breaking through the clouds and highlighting the straits was amazing. Saw the Petroglyphs and made it to Beachy Head. climb the rock to the 10 Point Turn marker. Turned back inland at the Beachy Head for a simple/easy hike back to the parking lot. The Coastal Trail is a lot of rocks and scrambljng so give yourself more time than the average hike.

I walk around here with my kids all the time. Great spot for a walk or a bike ride around the dyke. Dog friendly ON LEASH.

Great trail! Some really rocky parts. All trails said 7.7km but my final was closer to 10km. All in all in was a great hike though.

Extremely popular park that has a bit of everything

It’s and in and out, rather a full loop.

Facile d'accès, très agréable avec une vue impressionnante sur les îles, l'océan et la côte. Asseyez vous sur un des bancs ou rochers, ayez un peu de patience et vous verrez des phoques/otaries.

Nice place!

Took a SUP across Buttle, no problem stashing for two nights. Camped at the lake downhill from emergency cabin. Second day summited the Spire & Mt McBride, more of a scramble than trail. Heavy fog made finding the shute back to Marble Meadows more difficult. Highlight was seeing my first Vancouver Island marmot.

Lovely walk along Emerald Lake, very flat. Becoming quite snowy and icy on the right hand side of the loop, a few fallen trees on path. Still very doable in winter boots.

Easy, scenic walk to see the water and surrounding area. Dog friendly on a leash. Worth the 45 minutes.

What a lovely trail around the lake. Took my elderly parents all the way around and we had a great time. There’s starting to be snow and ice on the trail but the lake itself hasn’t frozen over yet.

Easy hike, ground mostly frozen but no snow today! The lakeshore at the car park is very busy but very few continue around the loop!

Definitely agree that the second half the trail is muddy, but still worth it if you like feeling like you’re hiking in the mountains/forest. Lots of planks that assist with walking over the mud. If you are doing this for the pure sake of a lake view - then you will want to consider going back the way you came in. The muddy side does have some areas to peel at the lake - but not as many as the first half of the trail. Overall, beautiful hike!

Great flat walk circling the lake/s. Lots of people and dogs but enough to have some quiet time also. 10 kms so can’t be done in 2 hours at a decent pace but nice to go a bit slower and enjoy. Many opportunities for swimming and resting on a bench along the way, and numerous facilities (bathrooms and playgrounds) also. BLUE/GREEN ALGAE NOTICES currently present.

Nice little area. Lots of space for sitting and relaxation with a great view of the water. Keep the tide in mind if you walk across the rocks to the little island. Had to walk back in the water because it was covering the rocks we used to get out there!
