Really great hike! The first portion of the hike to the overlook is paved and very crowded. If you hike a little higher up the nature trail/fire road you get awesome views with minimal crowds. Beautiful views of the lake and glacier. We hiked this in July/August 2018.

Seems like another planet! very cool walk..boardwalk in good condition. would definitely recommend the 20 mins! you will never see another place like it!

fresh snow on trail, lots of fallen trees across trail, some spots with deep snow. Made it to about the 2 km mark and had to turn back as there were just too many downed trees.

Short easy trail. It was a little socked in so didn't have the views but it was still a beautiful winter wonderland. Peaceful. You can check out our hike here: https://youtu.be/z68m5QFCso0

Glück gehabt und wenige Tage vor Beginn der Bauarbeiten dort gewesen. Es ist ein traumhafter Ausblick über den See. Mehr gibt es nicht zu sagen. Einfach wundervoll.

Very easy. The full trail is a board-walk, and it is absolutely stunning. Could be slippery after rainfall.

The Wapta Falls are phenomenal! Luckily, there were no snow when we hiked on the first week of May. Though the trail was very muddy. The trail is easy to find & follow. We got to the bottom of the falls and just didn’t want to leave.

Around lake was packed and good for hiking. Went up to Emerald basin and snowshoed breaking trail with about 6 inches of fresh snow (on top of about a 3 foot base). Beautiful sunny day and a great 11k hike.

A great winter outing! Packed snow and icy sections. You’ll want micro-spikes. The trail begins at the highway now that it’s winter, adding another 4km to the hike. No need for snowshoes yet.

Great trail if your looking for a quick easy walk with an awesome reward. Wife and I walked this end of November. Was cold but cloudless. Easy walk side by side well groomed trail to the top of the beach. Took the boardwalk and stairs down to half moon bay. 211 stairs steep. Some enormous ancient cedars. 4-1/2kms in just over 2 hours ( a good 1/2 hour in the beach) recommend to do after lunch that way you’ll get the sun, early morning beach is shaded. Would definitely do this hike again.

Trail was officially “closed” due to heavy machinery working at the trailhead. We found our way in and enjoyed the hike. Easy hike & a cool spot to enjoy, the boardwalks are awesome we didn’t get muddy.

Fantastic winter wonderland hike. Steep ascent up through a forest. I wore snow shoes and would recommend them in winter. It gets deep & thick up top. We made it halfway due to time constraints. Will come back in summer. Lovely creek by the side of the first part of the trail. Definitely need high clearance & 4WD to make it in. Sketchiest Drive in the snow I have done in a long time.

Comment peut on admirer le lac peyto durant la fermeture de ce sentier? Je compte venir en juillet 2020, avec un enfant de 3 ans. merci d'avance

Did this hike on Nov 11th, and it is great and perfectly doable this time of the year. Totally worth to go all the way down to the Falls and hike up to the frozen water/foam right in front of the big waterfalls. Absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful ! The gravel road that takes you to the HeadTrail is closed to traffic during winter, so the first parking by the highway is very limited (12-14 cars) but you can hike up 2 kms on an easy road to the very HeadTrail before you go into the woods. Total of 4.5 kms each way, we run into 20 people. Micro spikes or cleats needed because the road is iced and covered by snow. Amazing

I did this hike today 11th Nov. Easy hike however, cleats are required for this hike. Also there was not wildlife on this hike. Beautiful hike. To do this hike start no longer than 2 pm because it takes around 2 hours and a half and it gets dark by 5 ish.

A must do when you are in Pacific Rim NP. Most beautiful boardwalks we’ve ever done!
