Ah-mazing. Camped at Hidden Cove and Coronet Creek. Take a few days if you can! We happened to go at the full moon and seeing it rising over Monkshead on a midnight paddle was absolutely lit. Also there are neat fossils on the beach ~1km past Hidden Cove. A real gem of a trip.

Nice easy loop, very flat, even ground. Path is paved the whole way. There are garbage cans and benches along the way, and viewpoints for the lake. an outhouse at the beginning. The dog enjoyed it, but definitely had to stay on his leash as this is a busy trail. Easy walk and accessible to all.

Rikkis first taste of coulee trail running at Wyndham-Carseland Provincial Park!

The trail has been expanded recently and is well kept. It has a great view of the lake, but watch your step so you don’t squish any of the tiny frogs!

trail is now fully paved around the lake for easy walking. total length is about 10km and has you walking through a beautiful treed section on the north side which used to be a hidden gem for walking dogs

Nice paved trail with a board walk portion out onto the lake. Great for a family walk and trail takes you down to canoe rental shack and if you keep going will take you down to the community garden and then to the Leduc dog park also once past that you are back down along the lake.

Nice easy walk along the river. Lots of paths to the river itself.

A pretty fall walk by the river. Nice for birders, kid-friendly.

My first go at a multi day canoe trip. We rented a canoe from Red Deer River Adventures and booked a shuttle with them to Consort Bridge near Stettler. The there is a private campground with a boat launch there. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting an experience of multi day trips. the river is not too challenging. Maybe portage a couple of meters past the rapids on day one, we were lucky rather than good shooting down them. Early August means the river is a little shallower and moves more slowly further down. We went midweek, so very quiet on the river and in camp. Met a few people on similar expeditions and learned a lot from them. Great scenery, wildlife and history all the way down.

Nice nature walk close to river

Excellent 1-week canoeing and backpacking trip. I highly recommend this plan so you can enjoy the spectacular scenery: we spent 2 days canoeing to the south end of the lake, then 2 days of backpacking up Coronet valley, and then 2 days of canoeing back to the beginning.
