We were so excited to do this trail. Firstly we didn't see the boards identifying where the actual trail was. Then when we eventually figured it out, we got attacked by hundreds of mosquitos. There were probably about 20 mosquitos at the same time on me. It was so bad, after about 10 meter we turned back and left.

Tons of loose rocks down the river section, and a brutal start from Thornleigh! What goes down.. must come up again!!

One of the best hikes I’ve done on the coast. Highly recommended and has a bit of everything. Views, waterfall, suspension bridge.

Park in the layover by the bridge and cross the old bridge and walk down Karool Rd. Keep to the left of the first split and you’re off. theres some little wooden track signs in the first but but then they disappear. 100% bring Bushmans or some sort of insect spray. Mosquitos were in nasty swarms for about 2kms fairly early in but then disappeared. One big hill up but once you’re up it’s just an easy trail with plenty of shade. Some downed trees and rocky crossings but any water is over a boardwalk for the most part. When you get to the top of the river, take 5 mins to sit by the waterfall and enjoy the view. The path continues across the river (which had next to no water) but as we had no reception we could t tell where we were. We kept walking for a few hundred more but turned around. Keep going, we were only 100 m away when we turned back. Bring water and snacks- and swimmers, so others we met had been in the river and apparently it’s nice and cool. Great wildlife - blue tongues, gekkos (and leeches by the river crossing) and some cool funghi. Highly recommend but only if you have insect repellent!

Relatively easy, but a fun run with enough variety to keep things interesting. Could be better signposted though - took a couple of wrong turns.

I did a 15km circuit starting at Davidson Park. When I got to Ararat Reserve in Frenchs Forest, my phone went flat so the full circuit isn't shown. It was a very strenuous walk and I'm experienced and reasonably fit. Lots of steep inclines and downhill. In some small sections, I had to climb up some boulders (then down again on the return trip). These parts might be a little dangerous for hikers who are not very agile. It took me around 5hrs. O did it in very hot heat though. No shade in some parts. A much tougher hike than I expected.

Not sure why they’ve fenced it off. Climbed the fence and although steep in parts the track was easy to walk and clear. Best thing is it keeps the crowds at the bottom to a minimum

perfect middle hiking for 3hrs. Good for family spot and Kayak.

What a hike! Definitely not for the faint hearted. Got the ferry from Bundeena at 8:30 am and the trail took me around 7 hours to complete, totalling closer to 30k (including walk to station en route home). Definitely worth leaving yourself plenty of time and take LOTS of water! I took 4L and drank it all (it was very hot though). Some great scenery. Can be tricky to find the path at times though but you do usually find it!

Took just under 2 hours. Easy trail. Generally flat with just one hill. Beautiful trees and plant life and lizards but no views. Would be good for kids. There are many more stunning walks to do around the Blue Mountains however.

Pretty little hike. Very kid friendly. Waterfall view is gorgeous. Behind the old sign is a track that takes you down to the water hole for swimming.

Awesome trail, some absolutely amazing views!

Love this walk with the kids, alot of options!

I did this one on way home from New England NP. Couldn’t have been more different! I didn’t do the rock scramble- yes chicken. Quite a day and rocky walk, but pretty none the less.
