Just the most beautiful hike I have ever done. I am not an experienced hiker or anything, but walking and having the Andes as a backdrop is just ridiculous. Amazing scenery, it felt like being in the Lord of the Rings. The hike gets tough towards the end, the conditions are quite icy towards the end in May, so be prepared for that.

Amazing hike overall. Definitely the right choice to start from El Pilar. The trail up to Poincenot entails a nice forest and we got to see rabbits and woodpeckers. Great viewpoints and with clear view of Fitz Roy and the surprisingly beautiful Glaciar Piedras Blancas. After that, the uphill walk to Laguna de los tres is straightforward, a bit demanding but I saw people out of shape doing it. Once at Laguna de Los tres there are small uphill trails with great view to Laguna Sucia which is amazing! On the way back you have a great view of Fits Roy on your back and then I recommend you get a small rest at Laguna Capri.

A beautiful hike. Far less demanding than the Lago de los Tres but equally beautiful.

Great loop. I'd fill up on water before final large descent if you don't have a filter. can be completed in 9-15 hrs by experienced trail runners

Beautiful trail with great views of the valley on the way up and Mount Fitz Roy at the peak. Views are highly dependent on weather -- if it looks cloudy in the distance, you won't be able to see the mountains. Fairly crowded. Trail is in great shape.

Beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, overcrowded with tourists who don’t know basic trail etiquette. Error in the route after Fitz Roy lookout. Follow the trail not the AllTrails route.

This was a great trek! Some of the best views I’ve ever seen. We did 20 miles the first day to get ahead of storm. The weathers wasn’t great, it rained a good amount, snowed a little and was extremely windy. We lost the trail a lot and had to back track or cut straight up the mountain to connect to the trail which was exhausting. The hike had a couple difficult areas steep inclines and declines but over all the hike wasn’t that bad. There was one unexpected obstacle, the rope to the pulley on the second travers was broken so I climbed the cable and re attached it. We finished in 3 days and got back to el Chaltén by 2pm. One tip, don’t carry water there are plenty of water sources.

Amazing views on this trail but felt extremely technical to me. I’ve done a decent amount of backpacking trips but this one absolutely requires perfect weather because there’s lots of room for error. The first zipline is a little technical and requires some strength. The pass is fine but can be dangerous if windy, but the trail leading to it is pretty confusing. The third day down hill is so painful and took me three hours to descend. We combined days two and three which was 20 miles and super challenging. I loved this hike but as a not expert hiker felt it was a little too advanced. Also doing it in 3 days was killer but necessary for incoming weather.

Incredible. Do it. Felt tougher than expected! Be sure to do the last bit to Laguna Sucia. Los Tres was snow covered... amazing views the whole way. I think I’ll camp for a day to get some sunrise chill.

Beyond the prettiest place I’ve ever hiked to. Hard on the feet and a long day but worth it. When you reach the first ridge lookout, walk down to the lake and up the knob to the left to see the gorgeous turquoise lake hidden from the first view. That is a perfect lunch spot.

We did it in mid Sept 2019. Very snowy and icy still at the top. You’ll need micro spikes to climb up and especially decent from laguna de los tres. Bad weather for us, couldn’t see mt Fitz Roy, the lake is frozen but was cool because someone just set up a tent and camp right in the middle of the lake. Weather changed fast so bring more warmth and wind proof clothing.
